As a parent, I feel completely helpless when my daughters don’t feel well. As soon as they don’t look like their normal self, act like they typically do, or tell me they aren’t feeling well, I kick into caretaker mode. First thing I do is encourage them to drink water. Then I get them comfortable and take their temperatures. I use a VisioFocus Smart thermometer from Family 1st.
The VisioFocus Smart thermometer projects the temperature reading on the patient’s forehead. A digital display of the temperature is also shown on the top screen of the thermometer. To ensure accurate readings, the VisioFocus Smart thermometer displays aiming guides. Simply push the button within close distance of the forehead and the guides will tell you where to aim. When the numbers are evenly with-in the guides your will see an accurate temperature reading.
The VisioFocus Smart thermometer allows you to take the patients temperature without disturbing them. It is silent and doesn’t need to touch the skin. To help you chart the patient’s temperature, the VisioFocus Smart thermometer can keep memory of the last nine readings.
Within a few days of receiving my VisioFocus Smart thermometer, my youngest came down with a bug. She was complaining that her stomach hurt, didn’t have an appetite and said she was “freezing!” She bundled herself in a knit dress with leggings, a down jacket and a microfiber blanket and fell asleep. I took her temperature with the VisioFocus Smart thermometer. She had what I consider to be a LOW-grade fever…keeping in mind that she was really bundled up when I took this reading. I really appreciated being able to keep monitor her temperature without needing to wake her. A few days later, she was back to her normal sweet and ornery self.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

It’s cool to see a thermometer that projects like that. In nursing school I worried kids would fuse when taking their temperature, but with the no touch feature, that worry is gone. It’s a bit pricey but loaded with features.

This is really cool! It’s such a nice touch that you don’t have to touch someone and disturb them to take their temperature.

This is the neatest thermometer that I have ever seen.

I love this thermometer! I had one similar to this when my son was little. It really made it easy to take his temperature while he was sleeping. 🙂

Very nice device. And very convenient that you can take a temperature without touching a person.

Ease of use is definitely a positive! However, does anyone know the accuracy rating of this thermometer?
It’s good that you can take temps without touching the person. I like that it keeps the last 9 readings.
