Thank you to Motorola for providing me with product, free of charge, in exchange for this honest blog review. All opinions are 100% my own.
The Motorola name has been around for many years…in fact, since 1928 when the company was started by Joseph and Paul Galvin. Since those early years, Motorola grew into a multinational telecommunications company with its headquarters located in Schaumburg, Illinois. In 2011, Motorola Inc. restructured and become Motorola Solutions. The Motorola name includes many other subsidiary companies also.
No matter what name it goes by, Motorola is well known for high quality products that include items suited for the public’s safety as well as products used by governmental agencies.
For my review, I received the Motorola MBP854CONNECT Digital Video Baby Monitor with Wi-Fi Internet Viewing. This product will be put to good use by some very dear family friends of ours. This couple has been trying to have a child for approximately 10 years. We are happy to announce that they are expecting their first child, a healthy baby boy named Nathan, who is due to arrive around the end of March.
Due to the many issues this couple has had in conceiving a child and bringing it to full term, you can imagine the level of anxiety they are experiencing and may continue to feel once Nathan arrives. Every new parent is nervous, especially when it comes to those first few months/years, but this couple has experienced so much heartache just getting to this point, that their level of anxiety is considerably higher than most.
The Motorola MBP854CONNECT Digital Video Baby Monitor will be just the tool to help them manage some of their anxiety. This monitor provides a room temperature display, has two-way communication as well as infrared night vision, and comes with remote HD video streaming. All that is required is a wireless connection to the internet and a compatible viewing device such as a smartphone.
Other features of the Motorola MBP854CONNECT Digital Video Baby Monitor are:
- A 4.3-inch diagonal color screen
- Remote pan, tilt and zoom for ease and accuracy of videos
- Touch controls on the screen
- Local recording on an SD card (card not included)
- Range of up to 1000 feet with an out-of-range alert if you exceed that distance
- Sound level indicator
- Low battery alert
- Five soothing lullabies for baby to listen to
By downloading the Free Hubble Viewing App, you also get:
- Viewing on a compatible smartphone, tablet and/or computer
- Remote HD video streaming on compatible devices
- Free sound, motion and temperature notifications
- Free manual video recording and image snapshot capabilities (only compatible with Android and iOS systems with storage capabilities)
The Motorola MBP854CONNECT Digital Video Baby Monitor with Wi-Fi Internet Viewing will provide our new parents the peace of mind and comfort of “being with” Nathan even when they are not in the same room.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

Great review. I’m looking for a monitor for #2. I didn’t have a video monitor for my first child but I think I might get one this time around. I like the Motorola brand so this was helpful. Thanks.

This is incredible compared to what we had when my first daughter was born. At that time I didn’t even purchase one because the sound and photo was so bad I didn’t think it would be beneficial.

Thanks for the review. My husband wanted a video monitor when I was pregnant, but I was convinced that we wouldn’t ever need one. I was wrong. Lol. We’re actually in the market for a nice video monitor now that my daughter is 7 months old and I have no clue what to look for.

this look like a great monitor. the 1000 foot range is a very nice feature and I know it would be comforting for a lot of new parents to have this.

This is awesome, I wish they had these when my kids were babies. Great review!

Wish I’d had something like this 40 years ago. Very handy.

I’ve never used one of these before, but they look really nice and handy to have!

Thanks for the review. Great monitor, I only wish we had it 10 years ago.

Sounds amazing!! A video monitor is something I wish we would’ve gotten with my son!! We were always peeking in on him!! We lost our first so I was completely nervous and a basketcase with our second!! We had the movement monitor and that was nice but we had soooo many false alarms with it! Being able to see him would’ve put me more at ease I think!

I would be a nervous mom if I had waited so long to have a child, like you said. You seldom get enough sleep as it is so this would be totally worth the price and peace of mind. I’m sure you would have no problem reselling it too if you only had one child.

Have you actually used the product. This looks like a description and not an actual review.
