When I was in elementary school, gym class was always lots of fun. While I was definitely NOT the most athletic….okay, I was probably the least athletic in my class, I still had fun. Whether playing games with the parachute or ball games such as 2-pin, mat ball, or trench ball, I always enjoyed the comradery of playing in large groups. So when I graduated from high school and started my own daycare, I wanted to recreate some of those fun memories for the kids I watched. One summer in particular (about 15 years ago already!), I ended up with 6 school-aged kids along with my littles and I went on the hunt for some great playground balls. I’m sad to say that I never did locate any great quality ones. However, I’m really excited to share with you the set I just recently discovered from GoSports.

The balls measure in at 8 1/2″ each and come in an assortment of fun and bold colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple. They come deflated but the included pump works great and the kids and I had them inflated and ready for play within minutes.
These balls immediately brought me back to my younger days. They even have the same texture that helps kids grip them easier as I remember from my past. They are solid feeling and are perfect for use with kickball, soccer, 4-square, and even dribbling and shooting hoops for the younger kids since they offer a softer landing than a basketball.
Since it started snowing here again, I didn’t go out for any outdoor pictures but my kiddos also had a great time enjoying them in the house where I stayed nice and warm. Thankfully, they didn’t break anything! While these balls are perfect for indoor and outdoor play, a gym would be a much safer environment than my living room.
The kids and I love this set of balls. With six balls included, there’s enough to go around while the quality is clearly evident. These playground balls are awesome! They definitely remind me of being a kid again! 🙂 We uses these exact type of balls in gym class, they worked especially well for dodge ball and for “wall ball” which we played a lot as kids. I need my littles some of these for sure, thanks for sharing!

I also have fond memories of kickball at school recess. I have so many fitness balls at my place but these are so colorful for the kids. They look like they really enjoy them.

Super fun! I struggled to find a great playground ball for my son last year too!! I settled and its all crackly now less than a year later :/ Ugh!! I wish I had known about these then!!
