We have been seeing some unseasonably warm February days here recently in Minnesota and the kids have been taking full advantage. Spending time outdoors during Minnesota Winters typically means layers, layers, and more layers. For me, it’s hard to enjoy the outdoors when I look and feel like Frosty the Snowman in a parka and gloves. So with our 50 degree Saturday, we decided to head outdoors and try out our new Portable Pop-Up Soccer Goals from GoSports.
While GoSports offers their Portable Pop-Up Soccer Goals With Cones & Case in three different sizes: 2 1/2′, 4′, and 6′, we decided to get the middle size for our family. Since we have young kids who enjoy jumping in on the fun as well as my husband and myself playing, we felt that the 4′ would be an all-around size that we could all enjoy.

Stakes (for securing goals into ground)
Set up was a breeze. After removing the goals from the storage bag, I discovered that each one has two velcro straps that keep it secured when folded. So we just unlatched the velcro and the goals easily popped up and were in “play” position within seconds.
We utilized this set both indoors and out and everyone had a blast. Inside, we used a smaller, very lightweight ball so it didn’t matter that we couldn’t stake the nets down. Outside, our ground is still frozen so were unable to utilize the stakes there either. We used a regular kickball so the nets did move a little when someone kicked past the goalie and into the net but they still worked great!
When it was time to clean up, my husband just twisted the nets back into their folded position and we put everything back into the carrying/storage bag. Overall, great set that seems to be made well. While we didn’t use the cones today (except our youngest as a hat…….) because our yard was quite muddy, they will be perfect this Summer.

I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’ve not seen this sports game but it looks so portable and fun. Getting kids outside and moving is so important with all our electronic gadgets vying for their attention. Great activity for all ages and should last for a long time.
This looks like a blast! Any excuse to get the kiddos (and adults) outside is fantastic in my book! It looks like a pretty easy and fun game even for the younger ones too. I love how easy it would be to store everything as well! 🙂
This looks like so much fun! What a neat idea to offer it in different sizes, so yuou can choose the one that’s just right for your family. (The baby looks so adorable with the cone as a hat!!!). Strange that Minnesota got warm so early, we are expecting snow in NY on Friday!
How convenient and fun to have!! Would be so great to keep in your vehicle and have available for a spontaneous park day!! We are a big soccer loving family!! I see this in our future 🙂
