Packing For Disney ~ Save Money By Heading To CVS First!

When preparing to head on vacation, one of the big things at the forefront of my mind is money.  Vacations are expensive!  Many times most meals come from restaurants and every tour you take ends with the guides asking for tips.  We’re a fairly big family since we have 5 kids and things from food to tickets to souvenirs can get very costly.  So while I don’t want to have to watch every penny when we’re supposed to be having fun and relaxing, I plan as best as I can to be frugal.  So as we prepare to head out to our Spring Break Family Vacation down to Disney and then on a 3-day Cruise, CVS is helping me save some money!

  • SOUVENIRS:  The last time we went to Disney World, we dropped $25 for a very small Mickey Mouse plush.  So this time, I’m going prepared with souvenirs in hand.  Many of the Disney themed gear you find in the parks can be found outside the parks as well!  Plus, by surprising the kiddos with their fun toy at the hotel room, this will leave our hands free in the parks.  (Because we all know who ends up carrying those purchases for most of the day!)  So our suitcase is going packed with a Disney goodie from CVS for each of the kids.
  • SNACKS:  Disney allows guests to bring food into their parks!  Of course, there are a few exceptions such as no glass containers or wheeled coolers but that leaves plenty of options available.  CVS offers Gold Emblem Abound snacks that are perfect for on the go snacking.  From popcorn and rice pop clusters to snack bars and more, these great snacks are free from artificial preservatives and flavors and need no refrigeration.
  • SUNBLOCK:  It’s really important to protect my family from the sun whether at home or on vacation but I’ve learned the hard way that it’s best to pack sunblock along.  The prices in the gift shops tend to be atrocious  so grabbing a bottle of CVS’s spray sunscreen will make applying quick and easy and much more pocket friendly.
  • PAIN RELIEVER:  Headaches, aches, and pains don’t understand vacation and I don’t want to be stranded somewhere without help so I like to pack a bottle of pain reliever in my suitcase for emergencies.  Disney World is big, loud, and crowded which can bring on a headache or exhaustion.  CVS can help conquer this feat with their lines of pain relievers and medicines.

Snacks and sunblock! The sun can get you, even when it’s it’s cloudy! And the snacks there are outrageously priced, not to mention the souvenirs! CVS has all that stuff, and more, for literally a fraction of the price!

I’ve never been to Disney, although I’ve driven by it in Anaheim. I’d sure tag along with some kids if I had the chance! That’s a great tip to buy the push toys before going to the park.

Great tips. Sunscreens and snacks are the most important when traveling with kids.

Souvenirs are definitely much less expensive outside of Disney! Bringing snacks and sunscreen are also helpful.
