The old saying goes, a girl can never have too many pairs of shoes.  Unfortunately, I have to disagree.  If the shoes are uncomfortable, fit poorly, and cause issues, they don’t belong in the closet!  I actually just recently went through my shoes and rid myself of about half my stash.  So now I turned my attention to our youngest child’s footwear.  Since our older daughter is almost 11, many of the the shoes in our 17 month old’s closet used to belong to her sister.  Turns out, the world didn’t seem to know much about foot development and comfort for little ones back then.  Every pair had hard soles, poor construction, and were not even very cute!  (Some made me even ask myself “What was I thinking!?!”)  So after purging her shoe stash, I turned to Rileyroos for a great pair of sandals for our upcoming Spring Break Vacation.

Disney World requires lots of walking.  Most likely, our little girl may be carried much of the time but I still want her to be comfortable and have shoes that will be promoting healthy feet.  Even though our little girl is a red-head, I still swoon over pinks and frills for her.  So I was immediately drawn to the Rileyroos Allyson in Safflower.

Features:  This strappy sandal is from their Spring Collection and even sports a cute flower on top.  I love the dual pinks integrated into this design while the velcro closure makes for easy on and off.  The shoes are super lightweight and very soft which is a great combination.  The entire Allyson shoe is flexible and bendy providing a great “barefoot walking” imitation for growing feet.  Both the uppers and bottom are crafted from soft leather while the bottom of the shoes have a rubber padding for extra grip.  The enclosed toe offers additional protection for tiny toes.

Sizing:  Our daughter just moved into size US 4 toddler.  Rileyroos offers a printable sizing chart as well as guidelines to go by.  The size chart is spot on and and while our little one just barely fell into the 6-12 months (US size 3 /12- 4 1/2) size, we decided to go up to the 12-18 months (US size 5-6) being she’s 17 months and I’m hoping these will fit all Summer.  While they are a little big on her, she can run and play easily in them without any issues.

Final Thoughts:  Overall, these shoes are awesome!  The style is simply adorable while the extra padding and features are top notch.  The entire shoe looks well made and I love watching our little girl run around in her Allysons.  They will be perfect for vacation as well as the entire Summer.
