One thing that I’ve learned from having young children is to never underestimate the need for a stroller.  I enjoy baby-wearing too but there are some times where a stroller is a necessity for me.  One of these occasions just happens to be on vacation.  Typical vacations include lots of sight-seeing, walking, and long days.  So it’s no wonder that kids get exhausted and need to rest.  Thankfully, in preparation for our Walt Disney World and Mini-Cruise Vacation, Delta Children sent us their awesome Jeep Scout Double Stroller.

I immediately realized this was not the average “umbrella” stroller.  The Scout Double has a great array of features that make it really stand out including:

• Multiple Position Reclining Seat:  This is great!  The strap reclining feature allows me to control the angle and make it perfect for the age of child riding.  From my experience, most typical umbrella strollers don’t recline at all!
• Adequate Storage:  Another biggie for me.  The Jeep Scout Double offers FOUR, yes 4!, storage pockets.  Each seat has a velcro pocket as well as mesh hanging bag which allows me to have room for diapers, wipes, and other necessities that I need to take along.
• Extendable Canopies:  Each seat has it’s own canopy that offers a fair amount of coverage and even includes a small extender.  I’d love to see a little larger extender but was quite happy with the performance offered by this design.
• 5 Point Harness:  Since our kiddos that are utilizing the Scout Double are 18 months, 3, and 5, it’s not imperative to have the 5 point harness but it’s a great safety feature that I love to see if using for an infant.
• 3 Front Swivel Wheels:  While the wheels may be small, measuring in at 5 1/2 inches, they push well on flat surfaces.  The swiveling features offers easy turning and steering while the suspension provides a smooth ride.
• Lightweight & Slim Fold:  Weighing in at just over 18 pounds, this is very lightweight for a double stroller.  The slim profile while folded offers space saving storage when not in use.
• Side Cup Holder:  While I love the fact that they include a parent cup holder that can be utilized on either side of the stroller, I wish it would attach to the back as it does get bumped sticking off to the side.
• Attractive Design & Reflective Detailing:  The overall style of the Jeep Brand Scout Double is sleek and stylish.  Attention to detail and a thoughtful design make this a truly great choice.

We took our Jeep Scout Double Stroller with us last week on a vacation to Walt Disney World and a 3-Day Royal Caribbean Cruise.  It was perfect!  We were able to navigate the airports easily with it as well as once we reached our destinations.  While this is definitely not an off-road stroller, it handled the roads and paths at Disney and was even able to go over the tracks easily.

The suggested weight limit of storage is only 3# but we actually stored much more than that at times throughout our vacation.  When the kids got too tired to carry their backpacks, we slung them over the handles and continued easily on our way.  (The only issue we had was that it would become “tipsy” if there were no kids riding.)

Since the Jeep Scout Double Stroller has a fairly slim fold, it worked great on the cruise ship.  The cabins are extremely tiny but we were able to easily fold and store without hassle.  Back in 2006, we had taken our daughter’s regular stroller from our travel set and we were constantly tripping over it because it was so large.  It was nearly impossible to get through the halls and took up every spare inch of space in our room so we absolutely LOVED the compactness of the Jeep Scout Double.

Overall, this was a great stroller and we will definitely continue using it back home.  It fit through most doorways, steered easily, and I loved the extra pocket storage it had.  We were able to fold and unfold in a matter of seconds, which was vital at the airport when boarding as well as getting back off since we checked it at the gate each time.
