Thank you to LunchSkins for providing me with product, free of charge, in exchange for this blog review. All opinions are 100% my own.
It saddens me to see how much of a “consumer nation” we’ve become. When I see stories of how little some people survive with and then I look around at how blessed our little family is, I really want to strive to do a better job at protecting the resources we have. I think back to when I used to read Little House On The Prairie books and some days, I wish I could be a part of those simpler times. However, I am quite accustomed to my air conditioning and hot water showers so instead, I’ve decided to take baby steps in a realistic fashion to entice my family to become a little more green. Step 1: Strive to utilize reusable packages and bags instead of throw-aways. With that, I turned to LunchSkins, a brand on a mission, to help me.
We received a variety of LunchSkins Reusable Sandwich & Snack Bags for review. With the motto: Pack + Eat + Reuse, each of their lines features a variety of products that have been created to be used time and time again.
Features of the LunchSkins Bags we received include:
- Food Safe
- Durable Construction
- Toxin Free
- Top Rack Dishwasher Safe
- Reusable
- Secure Velcro Closure
- Available In A Variety Of Prints & Colors
- Easy To Pack, Use, & Repeat
Overall, our LunchSkins are great! Since we don’t utilize our dishwasher any more, I wasn’t able to test that part but they do wash easily in the sink. I especially love the cute and fun prints they offer. The kids can easily see which snack is theirs just by the designs on the bags but there is also a place to write the child’s name on the front as well. I’m really looking forward to our picnics this Summer since I will no longer have to deal with plastic bags trying to fly away! LunchSkins are lightweight but sturdy enough that the wind won’t be bale to grab them.
Gearing for a greener world, since one LunchSkin can equal 500+ plastic baggies that get thrown away, I think this is a great step that my family can easily take!

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.

I like the zip bags with just strips and zig zags-no kidish pictures-my boys are 9 and 12 and would think this was to babyish

Oh elephants and sea turtles are two of my fave prints. I recycle everything and also am saddened by our throw away attitude. I would carry these in my purse too!

This is such a good idea! I’m surprised I’ve never heard of this idea before, disposable bags are so wasteful!

Thank you Gabriella. We agree with you that throw away plastic bags are incredibly wasteful, overflowing landfills and polluting our oceans. Please check out what we’re doing to support a plastic free planet http://www.3greenmoms.com/lunchskins.
