Thank you to Battat Co. for providing me with Terra toys, free of charge, in exchange for this honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.
We recently purchased our dream home; a mini farm in the country. Our new home has a barn. We hope to some day raise a small variety of farm animals, but for now we just have chickens. Learning how to homestead is new and exciting for us.
Since our move, we have gravitated towards all things farm related, from home decor to the toys my daughters play with. Cheyenne has discovered a love for horses. Savannah shows a real interested in gardening and how to prepare meals with fresh homegrown produce. Everyday out here is a new and exciting adventure for us.
When Battat asked me to review the Wooden Horse Barn I was ecstatic. I knew the girls would have fun playing with the barn and farm animals.
I loved that the barn was made with both durable plastic as well as real wood. Assembling the barn took me about 30 minutes. I would guess that it will take you less time to build it, unless you too are wearing a carpal tunnel wrist brace. The pieces were all clearly labeled and the instructions were easy to follow. The Wooden Horse Barn comes with a ladder, two food troughs, four bales of hay, a hayloft pulley tray and ten fences. (Farm animals are not included with the barn kit.)
I built the barn while my daughters were at school. As soon as they came home and saw the barn, they threw down their backpacks and ran over to play. They both loved being able to haul hay up to the barn loft with the pulley tray. They also liked being able to open the side roof to reveal the inside of the barn.
When my husband came home from work and saw the barn, he too thought it was pretty cool. He and the girls played with the barn before dinner.
If farm animals aren’t your passion, Terra also has dinosaurs, north american animals, wild animals and marine animals. They have fantasy toy sets with vikings, goblins, and warriors.
Please visit the Terra website and Battat website to see the great selection of products they offer. Terra toys are available for purchase at Target.
Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

This is a good compromise with the doll house so boys and girls would both love to play with it. I grew up around farms and know many of my cousins kids have only lived in the city, so it would be a great gift for them.

What a fantastic toy! And I can imagine how excited you were waiting for the girls to come home and sure enough!!! throw everything and run to it! Nobody had anything like this when I was a child, no mater how much money you had. It looks like so much fun! and very creative!

This toy barn is awesome! I love that the roof opens up like a doll house! The fact that it’s wooden is super cool too, too many toys are made out of plastic these days. All 3 of my kids would have a blast playing with this! 🙂

I’m curious as to how the animals compare to something like the Schleich or Papo figurines. Do you have any idea?

Wow! What a beautiful mini shed!! It’s even somewhat similar to the one we bought. My girls are crazy about horses and we even had to get a little pony. I think they will definitely be crazy about such a toy!
Omgosh how fun!! My son loves playing with little playsets just like these… he really has no preference lol!! I didn’t know that this brand carried them!! He’s always playing with their little animals at Target 🙂 We’ll have to look for a set for him for Christmas!
