Thank you to Snuggy Baby for providing me with product, free of charge, in exchange for this honest blog review. All opinions are 100% my own.
These days, everyone is busy and could use an extra hand. As a mom, I feel that need every single day. So I’ve turned to baby-wearing as a way to help.
8 Things I Do While Baby-Wearing
- Go To The Bathroom: Let’s just get this one out there right away. When nature calls, even mothers need to answer. I definitely don’t strap my little one on to go but if we’re already wearing, she just comes along for the ride. Wearing in a porta-potty has been a huge lifesaver for me when our youngest is an infant or older baby as I couldn’t imagine putting them down in those things. I just make sure to tuck up any tails or straps and it’s actually pretty easy to use the restroom with child in (or on?) tow.
- Housework: Babies could care less if there are dishes and laundry to be done. When our little one wants or needs to be held and snuggled, nothing else matters to her. So wearing her has allowed me to fulfill both her needs as well as the household tasks at hand.
- Read To Our Older Kids: Little ones like to grab pages and we even had a “ripper” with our last son. So many of the books that our older children enjoy looking at and being read are off limits to the littlest one. Wearing her during story time allows for the entire family to take part while keeping our books safe and the baby close at hand.
- Homeschool: I am currently homeschooling three of our five kiddos which can take a few hours each day. Our toddler doesn’t seem to think school is all that important yet so she demands to be held while I’m trying to help the older ones. Strapping her on fills her need to be included and close while allowing me to have my hands free to teach, help, demonstrate, and write.
- Garden: I’ll admit that this one wasn’t the easiest on my back but a moms got to do what a moms got to do.
- Take A Walk: Some trails just aren’t made for strollers. This especially holds true when the kids and I explore around our farm. So the youngest gets strapped on and away we go without the limits that wheels would bring.
- Go To Church/Shopping: This is especially important to me when we have a newborn. I love the barrier that a carrier places between baby and the outside world. Wearing our little ones prevents strangers from coming up and touching or asking to hold our littles. As they get older, I still find baby wearing to be essential when grocery shopping as we fill our cart to the brim and need every spare inch!
- Cherish My Little One: Kids grow up too fast. Wearing our children has allowed me to take a few extra minutes to cherish the stage they are at. While I”m able to accomplish many tasks baby-wearing, just hanging out and snuggling my little one without aching arms is a huge plus for me.
Snuggy Baby sent me their adorable Foxy Linen Banded Ring Sling for review. Measuring in at 2 1/3 yards long x 28 inches wide, it’s a great size for any height. I’m just about 5’2″ and the tail hangs quite a bit for me but I actually like it as I use it to cover our daughter up when she falls asleep. It’s great for blocking the sun too.
The colors on the Foxy Sling are gorgeous. They are deep and bold, yet fun. The little foxes offer a whimsical touch and I love the fact that Snuggy Baby has them on the tail as well as a band on the shoulder for added detail. The rings are silver and tie in perfectly to this design.
I felt this sling was quite soft and comfortable right out of the package and didn’t require multiple washings like some do. It was easy to thread and use and I was able to get a really secure fit on my first try. However, I absolutely love the fact that Snuggy baby sends both a full color instruction and photo guide that shows step by step info on multiple carries as well as an informative DVD. These additions make Snuggy Baby Ring Slings a perfect baby gift as even moms who are new to baby-wearing will have all the information needed to safely wear.
Overall, this Linen Ring Sling from Snuggy Baby is great. The material feels solid and high quality and the design is eye-catching, unique, and fun. I find it easy to use and I love that it takes up such little room in the diaper bag. With a price tag of only $89, it’s not too expensive and works well from newborn on up. (Ring Slings are actually my absolute favorite for newborns!)

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. Love the foxes! I’ve never seen this print on anything before.

I would not only take a walk but take advantage of the added weight to workout! I’m lightweight and wear a weighted vest to build more muscle in my scrawny legs. Baby-wearing would be multitasking at its finest! I love the cute pattern here too.
