Thank you to MindWare for providing me product in exchange for review all opinions are mine.
I think all kids love to create things. I think it’s very important that they get the chance to create often from any age, whether thats paper crafts or more long term stable crafts. As a young child creating was such staple to who I was and still is today. My kids seem to following in a similar pattern. My son (aged 4) loves to color, paint, cut, glue, glitter and everything in between. He can certainly tell the difference between getting some paper to color on and having a nice canvas to create on. MindWare honors this serious craft approach with a grown up feeling pottery painting kit.
The Paint your Own Porcelain flower pot kit from MindWare comes with 12 food safe paints, a paint brush, 3 porcelain flower pots (3.5″ tall) and a porcelain tray. Simple easy to follow instructions were also included. I set up a newspaper liner down on our kitchen table gave each of my kids a paintbrush (I had an extra) a paint tray and a porcelain cup and they really went to town.
My son was very particular about the placement of each color and mixing them separately, he took his time and completed each piece with a sense of pride knowing that these pots would be used within and displayed in our home. My daughter (2 years old) loved the chance to get to dip paints, spread them on and mix paint colors.
After each pice was painted we preset our oven to 250 degrees and set our pieces on foil lined baking sheets. Considering the kids got the paint a little thicker than recommended we baked each piece a bit longer than the instructions stated.
One of the awesome things about the MindWare Paint Your Own Porcelain Flower Pot Kit was the amount of paint given, my kids were far from sparing but we had so much left over we are saving our paints for a future plate painting project!
My children still love to use and look at they work of art on our window sill and pick the flower that grow within each! The MindWare Paint Your Own Porcelain Flower Pot kit has given each of my children sense of pride accomplishment and creativity that is priceless. Have a child you know that loves to create?
I am a stay at home mother of two, who loves to create in every form, from cooking, to henna, to painting or sculpting, creating with my hands is my passion! I love to dance and let loose when the music flows right. Being outside is a special kind of therapy I think humans need more of as well as mindfulness! I love all things new and adventurous and am always looking to experience more of life 🙂

I have painted on terracotta pots before and have done some stenciling but for kid’s this is perfect. This would be great for earth day and plant some seeds in the pot.
