Thank you to Seedles for providing me with product, free of charge, in exchange for this honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.
I recently stumbled upon a product called Seedles. Seedles are rainbow colored balls made of compost, clay and seeds. Some Seedles contain flower seeds and others contain herb seeds. Seedles were designed to be a fun way to plant bee food. To plant Seedles, toss them on the soil then let the sun and rain do the rest…yes, it’s that easy. Each Seedle contains about 5-25 seeds in it.
As soon as I heard about Seedles, I knew my two young daughters would have a ball with them. For our review, we received Thyme, Pacific Northwest Wildflower and California Poppy Seedles.
Thyme Bomb Seedles grow seven delicious Organic herbs- Organic French Thyme, Organic Italian Oregano, Organic Bouquet Dill, Organic Moss Curled Parsley, Organic Peppermint, Organic Chives and Organic Genovese Basil.
Pacific Northwest Wildflower Seedles contain seeds for- California Yarrow, Godetia, Farewell to spring, Chinese Houses, Plains Coreopsis, California Poppy, Globe Gilia, Bird’s Eyes, Tidy Tips, Mountain Phlox, Blue Flax, Sickle-keeled Lupine, Russell Lupine, Blazing Star, Five Spot, Baby Blue Eyes, Evening Primrose & California Bluebell.
California Poppy Seedles do well in full sun; they are drought-tolerant plants.
Our weather has been inconsistent…hot for a few days and then cold, windy and rainy. We decided to plant some our Seedles indoors then when the weather gets better, we will plant more outdoors. The herbs have been slow to germinate where as the flowers only took a couple of weeks. We look forward to watching our Seedles grow and bloom.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

These are interesting and I’d love to try them. I’m following them on social media to see how others like them as well. They’d be great for kids I know.

These look so fun for kids! My niece just planted a fairy garden and would have loved to add these.

Seedles sound awesome! I am teaching my children about gardening and where food comes from, and these would definitely be such a fun way to do so! Thank you so much for sharing! 🙂

My humming/butterfly/bee attracting seedles grew really well until it got too hot and dry. The instructions say to water them during a dry spell, but I didn’t notice until it was too late… They all died. I’m going to try again, this time paying more attention to the changing weather. I’m planning on buying some more to plant in the fall so that they will bloom by spring!

I recently ordered some Seedles for my sister’s birthday. She recycles, composts, plants fruits and vegetables every year, has bee houses in her yard. I thought Seedles would be a perfect eco-friendly gift for her. The second I placed my order, I realized that I had mistakenly put in the wrong shipping address. I immediately sent an email explaining what happened and asking for help to fix the problem. I never got a response to that email. Two weeks later, the package arrived at my house instead of my sister’s. I sent another email explaining what had happened and expressing my unhappiness with the lack of response. I stated that what had happened was a failure and “should not have happened.” Now, I have to to re-pay to re-ship the package to my sister. This morning, I finally got a response from the owner (at least 3 weeks from my initial email) telling me to return the product and never shop at his store again. He complained that he and his wife were trying to raise two kids and squeeze in this side business between the hours of 10pm and 2am. He stated that it was not a business they made any money at. He said I called him personally a failure, which I did not. He said that the whole situation was my fault. I do, of course, accept some responsibility. I certainly love the idea of this product. I just have never received such a mean email. Plus, my sister did not get her birthday present. I am including below our email exchange. People can come to their own conclusions. I just thought that this exchange should be known.
MY EMAIL: I recently placed an order (#38038). I accidentally put in my address in the shipping area. Within seconds, I sent you guys an email explaining that I needed the shipping address changed to my sister’s address. Today, I received the box of seedles at my home. Total failure. Now, I have to spend even more to re-send them to my sister and hope they get to her in time. This should not have happened.
SEEDLES RESPONSE: Hey Julie, Please ship them back and I’ll give you a full refund. We would prefer to do business with someone who is respectful and considerate. Additionally, please try not to put the wrong information in next time and then expect us to fix it immediately, and then call us total failures for not fixing something you actually created. This organization is a labor love for my wife and I. We are raising two young kids full time, both working full time, and then in the miraculous hours between 10pm and 2am I run this side business that has inspired people from all over the US to grow 3 billion wildflowers. We lose money every year, and … Are never paid. So next time you call someone a total failures, think twice about who you are impacting from the comfort of your screen. Bee swell, Chris
I got some of these last year, but I never could get them to grow. I was pretty disappointed.
