My wonderful husband has let me decorate our entire new house. He gives his input when I ask for it, but has told me to decorate any way I want to. I decided to make a gallery wall in our front entry way hall. I wanted to do something in this space that told my husband this was his home too. I decided to go around our farm taking photos. I chose the six photos of items that I felt were special to my husband. Then I went to SimpleCanvasPrints.com and had the photos turned into wall art. I chose the 8×8 size print with the 0.75″ deep frame. I wanted the prints to have an aged look so I selected the sepia finish with black edges. It didn’t take very long for my Simple Canvas Prints to arrive.
Time to decorate! I compiled my six new prints with a couple canvas prints I already had, a rusty logging saw I had purchased for my husband years and years ago, plus a few new wall decorations I purchased at a local store. I laid everything out on the floor and rearranged it until I liked it. Then I put it on the wall. Truth be told, I didn’t care for the way my arrangement looked so I took it down and redid it. After a couple of tries, I had it figured out.
I waited by the front door for my husband to come home that night so I could show him what I had done. He was surprised. He said he really liked the look of my photos on canvas.
We had family over the next day. My husband took them straight to the wall and showed them what I had done. Our family members seem to be impressed with the canvas prints too.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. Thank you Carly. I love my canvas prints. I am thinking about getting prints made of my kids art. We have a kids art gallery along our staircase. I would love to turn some of the really special pieces into prints. What do you think? Is this do-able?
Sure! This is definitely doable! Turning kids artwork into Canvas prints is a great way to make them last longer since canvas is usually more durable than most art materials. Plus then you can share them with grandparents an other family members 🙂 I would recommend scanning them at at least 300 dpi if they are small pieces. For larger pictures, it would probably be best to take photographs of the art with a camera outside in the shade. A porch works great. Let me know if you would like any help with the layout, wrap, etc. on those!
I only have one canvas print but I just love it. You really can’t appreciate a picture of it and just have to see it in person! Mine is larger but I love how you have arranged smaller prints and the colors is stunning!
