I have to say that one of my favorite things about being pregnant and nursing is the lack of having my period. All in all with our last child, I went just over 2 glorious years without that monthly visit with the exception of the bleeding that occurs right after birth.
Thank you Lunapads for this package of goodies!
So with the return, I’ve decided to look into some greener alternatives than the typical store bought disposable options I’ve always previously used. For years, it’s been on my mind to try reusable cloth pads but I’ve never made that jump. But recently, after reading about some great products that Lunapads offered, I decided to finally take the leap.
Lunapads sent me a sample of their Performa Maxi, Performa Super, & Mini Pantyliner for review and each one has a different purpose.
Performa Maxi
The Performa Maxi is a revolutionary option featuring Lunapads’ patented, high-performance moisture management fabric without the use of synthetic fibers. This ensures that fluids move away from the body and offer an ultra comfortable cotton wear while also having the fast-drying performance. At a fastened measurement of 10″ by 3″, the Performa Maxi is a high performance pad that is good for moderate to heavy absorbancy.
Currently retails at: $18.99
Performa Super
The Performa Super also features Lunapads patented technology which will deliver the same premium performance and comfort as the Performa Maxi. The snapped measurements on this pad are slightly bigger at 13″ by 3.5″ for a little added protection. Designed with two layers of microfiber inside of two layers of soft cotton jersey and the added leak proof backing, this pad really packs a punch.
Currently retails at: $21.99
Mini Pantyliner
The Mini Pantyliner is an ultra thin and breathable pad that allows for great air-flow and breath-ability for light days, spotting, or leaking. The fastened measurement of the Mini is just 8″ by 2.5″.
Currently retails at: $11.99
Final Thoughts: I can’t believe how well the Performa Pads held up! Even on my heavier days, I was able to use the Performa Super for about 6 to 8 hours without even feeling any moisture. These definitely outperformed any disposable pad I’ve ever tried. I don’t know if I was imagining it but I’m convinced that switching to cloth also eliminated my “crampy” feeling because I started day 1 with a disposable and felt yucky but within an hour of switching to Lunapads products, the feeling went away! I’m really stoked that I may be able to get through my period each month now without the typical discomfort I’ve felt all these years. I am extremely happy with the performance and quality I’ve seen in these pads and would definitely recommend them. With my great experience, I have now vowed to build up a mini stash of cloth pads for our daughters for when they start menstruating.

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.

This is such a good idea and really goes way back to the days before the disposable pads. The women used cloth rags. The modern young people did not want to deal with that and moved to disposable pads. Now everyone is thinking of the impact on the environment and are switching back. Funny how like goes in a circle.

I’ve been wanting to switch to cloth pads for a while now, but just don’t know where to start.

I’ve used something similar to this and really liked them. I would think it would be good for very small bladder issues too when you just want added protection.

I never tried anything like that, and now I don’t have to.

I loved not having my period while pregnant too, it was amazing lol! 🙂 I have been wanting to try cloth pads for awhile now too, but still haven’t made the change. These look so comfortable, and I love the fabric because it looks absorbent. The patterns are cute, too! Thank you for sharing, I’m going to go buy some now! I love the idea of saving a ton of money, as well as the earth! ?♻
