Thank you to Jade Canopy for providing me with product, free of charge, in exchange for this honest blog review. All opinions are 100% my own.
This summer, we had our first family garden. We designated part of our pasture, about 1000 sq. ft., to our garden. We planted a wide assortment of plants including- strawberries, blueberries, herbs, gourds, corn, beans, peas, greens, tomatoes, melons, and root vegetables. I spent many hours researching companion planting. We decided to give it a try. We knew that this year would be an experimental year discovering what grew well and what didn’t. All-in-all it was very successful. Next year, we have decided to do traditional planting (as opposed to companion planting) and to move a few things around. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed spending time in the garden.
With my new found passion for gardening, I decided to look into businesses that offered gardening products. That is when I discovered Jade Canopy garden subscription boxes. Each month, Jade Canopy sends out theme boxes that pertain to that time of the year. Box contents are kept secret, they may contain organic, heirloom, and non-GMO seeds; gardening tools, or natural soaps.
For my review, I received the August subscription box. The August box focuses on Fall seedlings. It included peat pots, plant markers, twine, Ornamental Corn seeds, Pumpkin seeds and a terra cotta pot candle. Also included was a note that talks about the many uses of gardening twine. You can use twine to hang herbs, bundle, secure plants, make straight rows, decorate and much more. I have even used twine to temporarily hold fence panels together.
I had a lot of fun with my Jade Canopy box. I think these are perfect for beginning gardeners.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

Nothing puts a smile on my gace faster than gardening or anything to do with gardening. I have created a monster of a garden and love to see what it does every year. This would be a great idea for me and a number of other friends who also smile at their gardens.

Love this subscription box! It looks fun and yet easy enough for anyone even kids.
You were very energetic 1000 sq feet is a good sized garden for a first timer! You will now become officially addicted 🙂 Now you will be getting seed catalogs and as soon as you put the garden to bed for the winter you will dream what will come next year.
Gardening is great- besides food for the family, there is always something to give to friends and newly made friends. A subscription box would keep that need for being ‘in the dirt’ alive every month! -

The big thing I miss from moving from my home to a apartment was not having garden/flower beds. I still get plant/seed books in the mail and go through them. This would be a nice gift for somebody just starting the garden.
What a great box! This would make for a unique and fun Christmas gift!
