October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. My grandmother (mom’s mom) passed away from breast cancer after fighting it for 11 long years. My aunt (dad’s sister) is a breast cancer survivor. Finding a cure for breast cancer is a cause that is close to my heart. Although I don’t generally like wearing pink, I will happily do so to support breast cancer awareness and research. I have breast cancer pins, ribbons, shirts, jewelry, etc. When I got a chance to partner with Carpet One Floor & Home to review the Welcome A Cure Pink Ribbon Mat I was excited to do so. The mats feature 19 different designs, including four selections created by noted interior designers Lisa Mende, Traci Zeller, Melissa Davis and Kelli Ellis. There is a design to fit every home. I appreciate that for each $24.99 ($34.99 CDN) mat sold, 25 percent of the proceeds directly support the five-star rated Breast Cancer Research Fund, with a million dollars raised to fund a cure. The mat I chose was the Melissa Leaves design. I had been looking for a new mat for in front of our kitchen sink, and this one fits in with our kitchen decor perfectly! This mat is the perfect size. It measures approximately 24 x 32 inches. It has a rubberized non-skid bottom, so it doesn’t move around like our previous mat did. It is comfy under foot, and it is holding up really well. I like that it is easily cleaned up by using a quick swipe of the vacuum, and it is heavy enough that the vacuum doesn’t suck up the edges like it does with some of my other mats!
