Every parent wants their kids to look cute and sleep well! Or at least I know that’s what I want. As a mom, I love finding adorable things for our kiddos to wear and get especially excited when I come across adorable boy clothes. We have co-slept with all of our kids but after 10+ years, when our 5th was about 7 or 8 months old, I needed my bed back. I was a little skeptical about this crazy star-shaped getup but talk about magic! Our daughter literally self-transitioned to the crib! No crying, whining, fighting, or fuss. I didn’t understand what makes this sleeper work. Does it not have hand openings?

Hi Jeanine,
There are no hand openings. (However, it doesn’t seem to bother kids as our daughter was able to walk, grab toys, and play just fine in hers as she grew.) It seems that the magic happens because there is enough of a “resistance” that babies feel safe and the startle reflex is avoided. Yet, kids love Zippys because there is enough stretch and room to still move a little. It’s a swaddle transition so it allows a little freedom while still offering a secure and cozy environment. Does that make sense?
