Food Saver FM 5000 Series
I had seen the Food Saver vacuum sealing food preservation system on TV and I have always wanted to try it. I was overjoyed to get the chance to partner with JCS and try out the Food Saver FM 5000 Series for myself!

Food Saver FM5000 Series
The first thing I tried the Food Saver on was apples. I had a few Granny Smith Apples leftover from a Fruit box that we received and I wanted to be able to make a yummy baked apple dessert but didn’t want to do it right away. I sealed the apples and froze them for about a month until I was ready to make the desert.

Using the Food Saver was surprisingly quick and very easy.

Out of the freezer one month later these apples still look great!

I thaw them and dry them off a little before beginning my baking.

Baked Apple Dessert
Roll one piece of apple in each cresent roll then put in greased pan.
Baked Apple Dessert

Finally pour the soda pop over everything.

Baked Apple Dessert
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until apples are done.

It’s not very healthy, but I assure you that it is so yummy that it is worth the calories!

I’ve always wanted to try a Food Saver and I’d just go with the apples like you prepared. I don’t eat sugar, flour, soda, or processed stuff, and go more for healthier recipes. I have a sensitive gut though and still prepare those foods for others if they want to enjoy them.

I have a food saver and absolutely love it! It is useful for so many things. I dry herbs from my garden and can save them forever once they are sealed. Great for freezing things too, or if you buy frozen items in bulk it helps to separate it into meal sized portions so you can just take what you need out of the freezer.

  • gloria patterson

YOU GOT ME!!! Big fan of baked apples any way BUT this has to be out of the ball park.. I will be making this THANKS

  • hannah

I had a foodsaver before. It works excellent for freezing meat and saving them from freezer burn. I haven’t had success freezing apples without them turning rather mushy, maybe cutting them thicker like this is the answer.

  • gloria patterson

this is about the 3rd times I have saw these apples this week………. I just made a shopping list I am going to make these friday. Love apples raw, cooked any old way

  • Amy D
