It’s incredible how quickly technology updates. It had been a while since I had went looking at smartphones, and I was really impressed with the Coolpad Conjr smartphone. I was amazed that I could get a phone with the features of the Coolpad Conjr for under $200.

The Coolpad Conjr is a 5″ screen size in a slim and really modern looking overall phone design. My list of requirements for smartphones isn’t super long, but each aspect is really important to me. I need a phone that:

• Is reasonably priced. I don’t want to pay more for a phone than I did for my laptop.
• Has plenty of storage. I hate having to transfer my photos all the time.
• Takes great pictures. I like being able to use my phone as a camera when out and about, so I don’t have to take my camera everywhere.
• It’s unlocked, so I am not tied into any one phone service or contract. I like being able to change service providers to get deals or to meet my needs.
• A reputation for quality.

The Coolpad Conjr meets all of these requirements with flying colors.

• It stays around $180 on both Amazon and Newegg.
• It has 16GB storage, and it can be upgraded to 64GB of storage via Micro USB.
• It has a 13 MP AF rear camera, and an 8GB FF front camera. Plus LED flash!
• It is unlocked.
• It has an overall 4.5 star rating on Amazon, and a 5 star rating on Newegg.

The Coolpad Conjr really exceeded my expectations when it came to photos. It has a lot of settings available that allow you to adjust the brightness, saturation and other aspects of your photos. It can even guess your age when you take a selfie! Just like a real camera, the Conjr has settings that allow you to manually adjust the light setting for outside, cloudy, tungsten and more. In the past my smartphones have been pretty decent with taking photos outside in natural light, but taking photos inside was a disaster. Thanks to these manual settings (such as being able to adjust the white balance to tungsten and increase the brightness) makes all the difference. I also feel like the phone is a great size. It is big enough to make websites look and feel easy to access and navigate. Yet it’s not so big that it feels like a small tablet. I can slide it into my pocket even when wearing skinny jeans.

The Coolpad Conjr has a lot of photo options. In this photo I used a filter, and used “beauty tools” to enlarge my eyes and thin my face as well. These effects are not applied after photos are taken, but instead before – so you can see what the finished result will look like before you snap the photo.

In addition to meeting or exceeding all of my requirements, the Coolpad Conjr has other bragworthy features such as:

• 3D pixel sensing technology that can read up to 5 fingerprints. Plus, it can even read wet, dry or dusty fingers.
• The body is made of aluminum-magnesium allow body which is lightweight but durable.
• The ability for a dual sim. If you travel outside of the country this is a really convenient feature that allows you to have two phone numbers for the same phone.

The Coolpad Conjr is a great overall fit for me because it allows me to “make it happen”. It’s affordable, durable and has a great camera. It lets me live my life as a blogger while always having the ability to document what I am doing. It doesn’t hold me back, or give me anything extra to remember or take care of. I just take my phone and I have a decent camera with me all the time. Plus, I can use social media and the internet while on the go which is essential for me. As someone who values saving money, I love the freedom to pick my own network.
