Thank you to eco eggs® & eco grass® for sending product for review in exchange for my honest opinion.
Recently I was introduced to a company from Minnesota that produces ecofriendly Easter products including Easter eggs and Easter grass. eco eggs® and eco grass® are made in the USA by a woman owned, veteran owned business.
eco grass® comes in three bright colors: pink, yellow and green. Grass is 1/8 inch thick and is crinkle cut. eco grass® is made from 100% recycled paper and only natural dyes are used. It comes in a 1.25 oz bag which fills a standard size Easter basket, as you can see above. It is reusable from year to year, and the package the grass comes in is resealable. When you are through with the eco grass® you can recycle it in your paper recycling.
eco eggs® are made of renewable nontoxic plastic that is made from plant-based material. They use discarded crop material from midwest farmers. eco eggs® can be reused year after year, but also are fully compostable after use. They are durable and have a secure tight snapping closure. They don’t pop open easily like regular plastic easter eggs, which is nice if you are hiding the eggs outside and want to make sure no critters get to your treats before your kids do! The plastic is food safe, they are not made with petroleum. Candies do not need to be wrapped to go in the eggs. There are no toxins in the eggs to leach into your food. Per a representative from the company: eco eggs® have been on the market for 6 years and they have not had any food allergy issues.
eco eggs® come in five colors: pink, yellow, green, blue and purple. They are also available in two sizes to fit your needs. The 2.25″ x 1.5″ is the smaller ‘normal size’ Easter egg. The 3″ x 2.25″ is the larger size. In my photo below with the bunny, you can a small regular plastic egg from the store next to the larger size eco egg®. I like the larger size – easily able to fit bigger candies as well as other little trinkets such as a lip balm, small car, dinosaur, larger tattoo or sticker. Another positive is the plastic is opaque so you cannot see what is inside the egg before you open it. eco eggs® and eco grass® do sell for a bit more than Easter eggs and Easter grass from China, but I think if you try them you’ll decide they are worth it!

Its wonderful that there are companies out there that care about recycling. I definitely will be looking for eco brand at the store.
