With the Easter holiday on the horizon, my husband and I are busy sharing with our children the Christian history behind the holiday and why it’s so important. So as we strive to do that in a way that our kids can grasp and comprehend, I like to turn to Bibles that are geared towards children rather than using my own. So today, I’m thrilled to partner on a review of the Once Upon A Time Storybook Bible & Holy Bible.
The popularity of fairy tales has really increased over the years and with Disney’s newest live action Beauty and the Beast that recently came out, Zonderkidz wanted to publish a storybook Bible and full-text Bible that would grasp, intrigue, and resonate with families that have children as all the great historical events from the Bible did happen “Once Upon A Time!” Enter:
Once Upon a Time Storybook Bible
and NIrV Once Upon a Time Holy Bible
The Storybook Bible is filled with 33 inspiring stories from the Bible while also including an abundance of intriguing artwork throughout. This full-color book became a big hit in our home from the day it arrived at our door.
The NIrV Once Upon a Time Holy Bible offers a full text New International Reader’s Version translation while also including a presentation page as well as highlights from six great stories from the Bible through 24 full-color inserts. These little extra features are the perfect way for kids to dig a little deeper while not feeling so overwhelmed by the entirety of the Bible.
Overall, we are extremely pleased with both books. I especially love that they are both hard covers which helps them stand up to continual use through the years.
Buy It: Head over to ZonderKidz to see for yourself the great selection of products they offer a well as to purchase either of these two books. The Storybook Bible is also available at Sams Club as well as wherever books are sold whereas the Bible should also be available where books are sold.

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.

I got the Storybook Bible for my kidlet years ago. It was a nice way to get the stories into our daily ritual of reading. I really like the illustrations!
