With Spring Breaks happening now and Summer vacations just around the corner, I’ve teamed up with Max Warehouse to share some great road trip travel tips with you.  They have just what you need to make your family road trip organized, safe, and stress-free.

Schedule a Service Check on Your Car:  Before taking off an an extended road trip, it’s always a great idea to take the car in for a tune up.  Having a well-maintained vehicle tends to lead to a safer and more reliable car.  So be sure to check the oil, power steering fluid, windshield wiper fluid, transmission fluid, brake fluid, air pressure in the tires, brakes, and lights.

Pack Emergency Items:  Making sure you have things on hand for emergencies offers peace of mind.  Start off by loading a First Aid Kit.  Other things to have on hand or at least consider packing are: extra water, phone chargers, jumper cables, flairs, blankets, water, fire extinguisher, mini tire compressor, basic tools, rope/bungee cord, and a flashlight.  While most trips go off without a hitch, it never hurts to be prepared for the unlikely scenarios and emergencies.

Plan Your Accommodations in Advance:  Unless you’re the fly by the seat of your pants, unflusterable type person who doesn’t mind sleeping in a car, be sure to make any overnight reservations ahead of time.  This becomes even more important during the peak travel times such as Spring Break and Summer when accommodations get full.

Bring Healthy Food & Snacks:  Packing a small cooler with easy to eat and healthy snacks and meals will avoid hunger meltdowns and unplanned gas station pit stops.  Depending on your travel route, many times you can go for miles without running into a location where you can stop for food so pre-planning can save money and frustration.

Road Tripping with Kids:  Plan according to their needs.  Include scheduled restroom breaks and stretching to let everyone out of the car throughout the route.  Focus on the journey as well as the destination as being together in the car can be a great way to have fun and bond.  Take along travel games, audio books, fun cds, movies, art supplies, and a bunch of song ideas to keep everyone engaged and entertained.

Childproof for Your Destination:   Bring along outlet plugs, cabinet locks, and door covers if needed.  When utilizing cribs or play yards from hotels or others, be sure to inspect it thoroughly to ensure it will be a safe environment for your child.  If in doubt, ask for a replacement or even consider putting a mattress directly on the floor.

One way to help with those travel aches and pains is by using the WAHL Hot-Cold Therapy Custom Body Therapeutic Massager.  This handy massager comes complete with seven different attachment options (triad, heat, cold, four finger flex, facial, power disc and spot applicator) as well as a travel bag.  The 9′ cord offers great reach while the attachments are easy to switch out and use.  This Massager works really well and my entire family has been enjoying the benefits of using it!
