What’s the hardest part about eating healthy, for you? This week, I was asked this very question. My answer was …”sticking to it when my family is eating unhealthy foods.” My family does great throughout the week. We all eat a healthy dinner together. On the weekends, I turn the kitchen over to my husband (when he is home.) He eats with his eyes…if it looks good, he will eat it. He isn’t as concerned as I am about getting in daily servings of vegetables, fruit, protein, etc. So yea, it is difficult to watch them eat those foods without having a few bites.
Several of my friends also answered the question, “What is the hardest part about eating healthy, for you?” The most popular answers were-
- Convenience/lack of prep time
- Portion Control
- Late night snacks
- Multiple food allergies
- Budget
- Healthy foods are flavorless and don’t fill me
- Travel
- Lack of healthy options
- No help or support from other family members
- Cravings
- The love of- spicy food, chocolate, salt, sweets
- Dislike vegetables
- Too much information…don’t know where to start
In my opinion, Nutrisystem crosses off several of those answers…convenience, portion control, flavorful and filling meals, several options available, and information overload. Nutrisystem does all the hard work and planning for you, all you have to do is eat.
So I am curious, honestly, what is the hardest part about eating healthy for you? NO judgment here!

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

Honestly “bad foods” are cheaper. and healthier is way more expensive. for a family of 5 on a very tight budget its easier to go buy the pizzas and snack food to tie ya over than to buy the healthy fruit and vegetables that we need to eat

I found out that I have type 2 diabetes. I count my carbs doing well for months. Then I blow it. I have trouble staying the course.
