Thank you to Baker Creek for providing me with products in exchange for this honest blog review. All opinions are 100% my own.

Last year, we had our first family garden. We planted our garden with heirloom seeds from Baker Creek. Baker Creek offers nearly 2,000 varieties of vegetables, flowers, and herbs. They have the largest assortment of heirloom seed varieties in the USA. Our garden was beautiful! It did so well. We were very pleased.

This year, we are going to try moving things around a bit. We suspect a few things will do better in containers rather than in the ground. My husband also decided to expand the garden area.

For my seeds, I went back to Baker Creek, of course. I got a full assortment including Cauliflower- purple of sicily, Carrots- atomic red, Cucumbers- Boston pickling and marketmore, Salad mix- rocky top lettuce mix, Onion- stuttgarter, Peas- sugarsnap, Bell Pepper- etiuda, Rhubarb, Pumpkin- Atlantic giant pumpkin,Tomatoe- old Italian and costoluto genovese, Zucchini fordhook, Melon- honey rock, and a few more.

Another new thing we are trying this year is starting our seed rather than directly planting into the ground. The weather has a bit “off” this year. Our thought was that if we got the seed started indoors, then when the weather regulated, we would have strong and healthy little plants ready to go into the ground. I have my seeds started in various containers. They are in a room in our barn. I have a heat lamp in there to keep the temperature above freezing.

I am SO excited for this year’s garden. Last year, we had enough produce to share with our family and friends. We also had enough for canning. I hope to do the same again this year.

I strongly suggest Baker Creek Rare Heirloom Seeds!

I LOVE their seeds! I could honestly spend hours on their site just looking at all the varieties they offer, I like your set up for seed starting. I have yet to be able to do that as I do cat rescue and one of the cats always has manged to go in and tip things over. We finally got to start gardening and I am going to be getting a few more plants tomorrow.

Wow the picture of your garden is amazing, what a great feat! That was a lot of work! I’ve been wanting to garden but it somehow is one of those things in theory I want but in practice I’ve always got other things to do. The seeds and your hard work is great!

I very much want to start my own garden like that. That’s my dream to grow our own food and share with family and friends.

I need to try their seeds! I grew up in Oregon and had a secret garden type backyard with a huge garden and lots of trees, bamboo, and blackberry bushes. I hope to one day be able to have my own garden like I used to have, there is nothing better than homegrown food! 🙂

I think starting most seeds indoors is a good plan. I don’t have a garden.

I have not tried their seeds. I have my small garden planted already so I will look into getting their seeds next year. I like growing things not found in a regular store.
