Thank you to Kulani Kinis for providing me product on exchange for review. All opinions belong to me.
What we wear can have a major impact on how we feel, whether you’re a man or woman. I’ve always shopped according to what clothing style made me feel good. As I became a mother I began to feel a new sort of pressure to dress a certain way. At times I felt I was supposed to dress more modestly, covering more of my body up. Yet I felt that while despite being a mom I am still young and would like to do my best to keep up on certain trends in the fashion world. Who doesn’t like a little change?
I followed a youtuber online who had a family and followed my similar parenting and life path. On her channel she had a video showing a tutorial of how to make her bikini bottoms more cheeky. That was the start of the realization that just because I’m a mom doesn’t mean I have to wear a mom uniform. Being stuck in some not so sexy nursing bras for 4 years straight, I was ready to start dressing in clothes that made me feel great about me!
Last year I visited Florida with my family and that was the first time I chose a more Brazilian cut swim suit. Was I self conscious at first? Of course I was. Nervous? Certainly. A huge realization happened in that vacation. I realized that I was the only one worried about what I was wearing or not wearing, at least on the beach. Later I had a more profound realization that anyone who had a problem with what I was wearing was dealing with their own personal issues, but putting them on my clothing.
This year I went to Florida armed with 3 new bathing suits from Kulani Kinis. There were two words on my mind that I couldn’t wait to experience on the beach, comfortable and confidant. Kulani Kinis gave me the tools for both of those emotions!
My most favorite print from the Kulani Kinis site was the midnight moonflower picture below, the color was totally me and the fit was perfect. The dark portion of this suit are actually more of a navy color than the almost black that it kind of looks like in the pictures. (FYI I’m wearing size small in all of these suits but the periwinkle Brazilian bottoms and I normally wear a size 3-5 in pants and small tops)
An extremely close second favorite print was the Tahitian Hula. I chose the Tahitian Hula as I liked the colors but once I tried it on I was in love with the colors, they worked perfectly on my skin tone!
Last but not least was my more daring suit as it was a traditional Brazilian thong style bathing suit. I liked this suit but I’m only just beginning to wear and like high waisted bottoms, so it was a bit of a transition.
Kulani Kinis is well equipped with awesome customer service, really, I tried and sent back multiple suits to get the perfect fits and colors. Kulani Kinis really understood that a woman’s body can be finicky with styles and sizes and I never once felt any frustration on their end with my wishy washy choice making. I mentioned before that Kulani Kinis provided comfort, and oh boy did they. I could wear either one of these suits all day without an indent mark where the straps laid or itchy skin in the least! Despite the soft material and soft bands the suit stayed on in some pretty harsh ocean waves.
Wide bands and incredibly soft material are what I attribute to such comfort. Kulani Kinis is an Australian brand swim boutique with new styles and prints coming out pretty often, so head over and see if anything catches your eye!
I am a stay at home mother of two, who loves to create in every form, from cooking, to henna, to painting or sculpting, creating with my hands is my passion! I love to dance and let loose when the music flows right. Being outside is a special kind of therapy I think humans need more of as well as mindfulness! I love all things new and adventurous and am always looking to experience more of life 🙂

You look gorgeous! I really love that Tahitian print suit. The top is great and the pattern really looks nice.
I havent worn a suit like that in many moons. I dont know what I would do in a thong suit- likely hide!
All of the suits you bought are beautuful, and you look amazing in them!! 🙂 I actually bought my first bikini since having three kids this year too. I just haven’t felt comfortable wearing one as a mom until, like you, I realized that I was the only one who cared. Thank you so much for sharing!
