Thank you to Breakout for allowing me to breakout in exchange for review purposes! All opinions belong to me.
Zombies, puzzles, mystery, friends and a time limit, there is no better way to spend your time. I feel my generation is the generation that might have a slight love for the Zombie apocalypse. We have shows surrounding Zombie apocalypse, video games, paint ball games, books, you name it we have slapped a Zombie on it!
The fun and thrill of an escape game is no place to skimp on zombie themes! At Breakout in Lansing Michigan there are a few awesome themed escape rooms. My heart totally fell for the Zombie themed room as soon as I read the description!
The Zombie Roadhouse game is set at Mary and Joe’s old bar, you need to acquire the main staples needed in a Zombie apocalypse, things like weapons, food medical kits and more. The only problem with obtaining those? Each item is puzzled through the room. Challenge yourself to search, think and investigate through leftover clues, hidden pieces and clever puzzles.
Each puzzle in this game was set to flow pretty easily. This room requires a minimum of 6 people for the best chance of escape, which was what we had. I think having more people would have been helpful to help us escape as more brains working at each puzzle and clue is only a benefit. Our group learned a bit about what each of our skills were, some were better at deciphering a code, some were better at key searching and matching.
The puzzles at Breakout were well thought out, the scenery fit perfectly, so much time and thought went into making the building as well as the game room feel like the real situation of a zombie apocalypse. Multiple times we were spooked by staff which only added a bit of thrill to the whole experience. The story line was well thought out and true to a zombie apocalypse. I loved the Zombie Roadhouse and can’t wait to do another room at Breakout!
The overall takeaway? I now know that I’d like more than six people when the real zombie apocalypse comes!
I am a stay at home mother of two, who loves to create in every form, from cooking, to henna, to painting or sculpting, creating with my hands is my passion! I love to dance and let loose when the music flows right. Being outside is a special kind of therapy I think humans need more of as well as mindfulness! I love all things new and adventurous and am always looking to experience more of life 🙂

Ive been to something really similar. It is always so much fun. The next time we visit friends in michigan we will have to check this one out.
I think our city got a similar concept. It’s called the Escape Room – haven’t really looked into it yet though.
