Work can be stressful, staying home with the kids can get crazy, and life in general is a whirlwind.   Everyone is busy, that’s pretty much a given.  However, it’s no surprise that watching a favorite show is a popular way to unwind and relax.  Many times over the years, I’ve turned to Mill Creek Entertainment to help me find great DVDs, some fun classics, and even favorites from my childhood.  Their June releases, as usual, were awesome and included these two top picks:

When I was a kid, my dad was an avid Highway To Heaven fan.  Perhaps it’s because Michael Landon was in so many other things, but I really took to the series as well.  So when I had the chance to grab this copy of Highway To Heaven Messages From Above, I was really excited.  Follow along as Jonathan Smith, played by Michael Landon, and his friend Mark Gordon travel the country working on their assignments from God.  They wander into the lives of people who need help and build relationships while lending a helping hand.  This touching and life-changing series had a five year run and this memorable collection features several touching episodes.  With a running time of 6 hours and 27 minutes, it’s perfect for a weekend marathon or catching up on this beloved classic during a few nights.

I grew up playing the Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego game on the computer and learned SO MUCH!  We even had the book to go along with it so I could help look up clues, search countries, find flags, etc.  It was a lot of fun and I didn’t even realize it was that educational at the time because I played for enjoyment.  So when I saw the Where On Earth Is Carmen Sandiego “The Complete Series” DVD Set, I was super curious!  This energizing series is also filled with excitement and education as detectives, Zack and Ivy, play an intricate game of cat and mouse with the world famous thief Carmen Sandiego.  History and geography galore are wound nicely through the unique characters and humor as this animated series delivers some awesome entertainment.  Now that my kiddos have started watching this series, they can hardly wait between viewings as we watch a little each day!
