With Summer officially here and school work complete, the kids are spending a great deal of time outdoors. As they run around and burn off all that Winter energy, they need to stay hydrated as well as eat some nutritious snacks. I like convenience just as much as the next person, however, the number of ingredients that I can’t even pronounce in many products at the grocery store scares me. That’s not even to mention the absurd amount of sugar too. One treat that my kids adore and beg for each Summer though are Ice Pops. So when I came across Zipzicle, I was so happy to have found a solution that satisfies all five kiddos as well as myself.
Zipzicle offers a great way to make homemade Ice Pops through their custom designed pouches. Just fill, zip, and freeze! The best part is that if your kiddo can’t finish their whole Zipzicle, just zip it back up and toss back in the freezer again till later! We started off making two flavors for our first run. A Raspberry/Strawberry Lemonade and Creamy Chocolate.
I found the Creamy Chocolate Zipzicle Ice Pop Recipe on their website but altered the Raspberry/Strawberry Lemonade from a version a friend made.
- 1 Cup Fresh Or Frozen Strawberries
- 1 Cup Fresh Or Frozen Raspberries
- ½ Cup Apple Juice
- 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
- Place all ingredients in a high quality blender.
- Blend on high until completely smooth.
- Using a funnel, fill each Zipzicle Pouch to the fill line.
- Seal using the zipper closure at top.
- Place in freezer until solid.
- Pull apart zipper and enjoy!
I loved knowing each and every ingredient that went into our Ice Pops. While I was a bit nervous about the filling part, using a funnel worked well and we didn’t spill at all. After placing in the freezer overnight, the kids were antsy to try their creations the next day. Turns out, both flavors were a hit and the kids are now busy talking about what to try next.

This would be as much fun for adults as it is for kids. I can see us sitting around watching the kids play and having our own treat

My twin grand kids would love this!

These are AWESOME! I’ve been looking into the reusable pouches were you can put apple sauce and yogurt. I hadn’t even thought of Popcicles! And the recipes look great too!

Raspberry Strawberry Lemonade? Yes please! My kids love this combination.

The Berry Gin Pops sounds good!

This is so awesome! My kids love it when I make yogurt pops! They would definitely love to help me make Zipzicles. I like to give them treats that have little to no sugar. Too many products are loaded with sugar. Blah.

I love this!!! Not going to lie, I immediately wanted to make a wine one with my left over wine! These are great!!

I remember store-bought versions of these from childhood. I only got them from other kids, because my parents never bought them!

I must be tired cause I spent 5 mins saying “wow I have never seen ziplock in that size before” lol. That is really cool but I fear they will always be sliding out and falling on my floor. I think it is a pass for me and only for that reason. I have chronic back pain and can’t pick stuff up but it is so cool to make your own ice cream freezer pops and easy. I love the idea!

This is such a convenient way to make and serve popsicles. The chocolate pops sound so refreshing and yummy.
I can see why your kids would love those flavors! What did you use for the chocolate ones?
