We received two tickets to visit the Creation Museum to facilitate this review.  All opinions are my own.

Another big stop on our vacation list of things to do was visit the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky.  I’d heard about this big museum that opened back in 2007 for years now and it was one of the big reasons we decided to vacation in Kentucky.  (The other was the Ark Encounter Life Size Noah’s Ark Experience and you can read my Ark Encounter Review if you’d like to learn more about that stop.)  Operated by the Christian Creation Apologetics Organization, Answers In Genesis, this 75,000 square foot museum offers an expansive number of exhibits that bring the Bible to life.

We stayed in Florence, Kentucky as it was centrally located to all the stops we wanted to visit.  The drive to the Creation Museum was easy and even a little scenic, which was nice.  Once we arrived, we headed inside, got our tickets, and got busy exploring.  Our first stop was the Special Effects Theater where we viewed Men In White.  It was quite entertaining and the kids loved it too.  Even though I was thinking there would be a little water involved as I saw a couple sprinkles on a seat, it still caught us all off-guard.

Then we started our way through the museum.  Featuring 140 state-of-the-art exhibits that bring the Bible to life, there was lots to see.  From Lucy the Ape (a famous evolutionary icon) to dragon legends, dinosaur den, Dr. Crawley’s Insectorium, the Garden of Eden, Noah’s Ark, and Christ’s crucifixion, it would be easy to spend an entire day visiting all the exhibits.  Instead of going on and on, I’ll just share a picture show below to give you a small glimpse.

In addition to all the exhibits indoors, the Creation Museum also features beautiful grounds, a petting zoo, planetarium, and more.  We spent quite a bit of time enjoying their outdoors as there was just so much to see and do.

Panning for gems was a BIG hit!

So as you can see, we had a busy day at the Creation Museum.   Since we were there in the middle of summer, it was fairly crowded.  So my suggestion would be to try to plan a visit during the week in the middle of the school year to avoid the big crowds and waiting.
