Everyone loves a great game. whether it’s a classic board game or a fun IQ test to challenge the mind. From the time our kids can crawl up on my lap, they are right in there with us. Our family plays games often. If there isn’t a group of kids sitting around a board, it’s the entire family. It’s just a part of our every day life. We actually have an entire closet dedicated to our stash of games as it’s more fun to rotate though a variety. So just recently, when I had the chance to add a couple new ones into our rotation, I jumped at it. I’ve been familiar with Educational Insights for many years now. Back when I ran an in-home daycare, I was a frequent customer even. So if you’re on the hunt for some high quality educational fun, be sure to head over and check them out.
Educational Games Are Fun
First up, we have the Peekaboo Barn Game. The preschool app sensation, Peekaboo Barn comes to life for kids in a 3-D game. This is for the youngest of game players and geared for ages 2-4, although my 5 year old did enjoy playing it yet too. However, the 2-4 is very accurate as older kids will tire quickly with the simplicity. It’s a team game as players work together to put the animals to bed.
Set up is easy. Place all of the animals in the track around the barn, awake side out. Very simply, the kids push the top of the silo, which spins the animals around the outside of the barn. Whichever animal ends up in front of the barn is getting sleepy. So the child vocalizes the animals “sound” and then places them inside the barn, sleepy side shown. IF they land with the rooster in front though, shout COCKADOODLEDOOOOOOOO and wake up one of the animals. Play until all the animals (except the rooster) are asleep.
Another fun choice is the Wiggle Waggle Whiskers Game. This 2 player game is geared for ages 4 and up. Practice strategy, reasoning skills, counting, and more in this purrrfect pet game.
To play, one player chooses dogs and the other takes cats. Then, players take turns placing a piece of fence on the board. Whenever a fence is squared off, that player puts their pet inside! Then they get to take another turn. Once all the land (aka-game board) is fenced in, players count their puppies or kitties and see who has the most. Whichever pet has more land is the winner. Simple, fast paced, and fun. Now this game that can grow with kids as it can get pretty competitive with age while still easy to understand and play for the younger crowd.

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.

They sound like great games. I think the girls will like Wiggle Waggle Whiskers Game better. They are a little old for the Peekaboo game. Thank you for the review.

I love educational sites and toys like this for kids–they really are a better alternative to some other toys that are out there! It looks like the site has a really wide variety of choices as well!
I completely agree that learning games are the best. I think you can turn a lot of activities into learning – cooking, baking, cleaning, etc.
