Thank you to Carmel Industries for providing me with products to facilitate my blog review. All opinions are 100% my own.
We have a new fad taking over our area…rock painting. Yep, you read that correctly. People of all ages, in our community, are participating. It is really as easy as it sounds..find a rock, paint it and then hide it in a public area for others to find. Some people leave information on the back of the rock such as a link to our local Facebook rock painting page, words of encouragement, or just their initials. No matter what you put on your rock, the activity is super fun.
When I first learned about Carmel Industries Paint Crayons and Markers, I thought, “Hey, these would be perfect for decorating rocks with!” So I gladly accepted the review opportunity. For my review, I received Paint Crayons and Paint markers in two sizes.
Paint Crayons are made of a pliable paint that easily glides on surfaces. They will work on most surfaces types including dry, wet, dirty, oily, smooth, rough, rusty and more. Once the paint has been applied, it will adhere and form a durable bond.
Paint Markers have a durable 3/16″ nib for fine or bold line marking. Wow Marker Wide-Tips are equipped with a whopping 3/8” x 5/8” marking nib for bold line marking. Just like the crayons, they work on most surfaces and form a durable paint bond.
For our rock painting project, the markers worked better than the crayons. The markers made it easy to apply a smooth even layer of paint on the rocks. The fine tips made it easy to do detail work. We were pleased with the results.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

We have been painting rocks too. I will have to look up this company. We need better painting products. Thank you for the review.

These are great markers, I imagine you can use that in a lot of different ways. My mom actually paints animals on rocks, its neat when the rock shape looks like the shape of an animal.

I had no idea that this was a thing, but it sounds fun and my kids would definitely enjoy doing it! 🙂 I used to color rocks when I was a kid, but never paint. Thanks for sharing!

This would be a fun craft for almost any season. I like the idea of using markers versus paint.

I love paint markers, they are so handy for crafts.

I remember a rock painting fad back in the 60s. Didn’t know it had come back again.

These pens make great pet rocks! Now that is something I could get back into.

What a fun idea this is, to paint the rocks and hide them! A fad that kids would love and parents enjoy, too. These are so cute! Good to know what supplies work to do these!
