I was sent a R/C Snowplow from Hammacher. All opinions are my own.
I find older boys, and teenage boys to be the hardest age range to shop for. Many of my nephews are getting older, though. I have five nephews who are currently between the ages of 9 and 14. I find myself asking Ryan for help when coming up with gift ideas for them. He was confident that the Child’s RC Snowplow from Hammacher would be a win. It says it’s for ages 6 and up, but he thought it would excite our preteen and teen nephews.
It is exactly what it sounds like. It is a remote control vehicle that is a snowplow, and it can really be used to plow snow. Here in Michigan we almost always have snow on Christmas, and we have cold winters in general. It can be easy to stay cooped up inside far too often. I thought the RC Snowplow would be a great way to get kids outside. To be honest, I think Ryan finds the RC Snowplow pretty cool himself. I kind of expect our whole family to bundle up to head outside to watch the Snowplow in action on Christmas morning!
It is a 1:18 scale and is about 20 inches long, about 7 inches high. It requires 6 AA batteries and 1 9 volt battery though both are included with purchase. The plow can move backward, forwards, left and right to clear snow on your sidewalk, deck, and so on. It moves at 1mph on its treaded rubber tracks. It even has a 360-degree rotating crane in the back.
I’m not typically one to get excited about snow, but I can’t wait for snow so we can see this toy in action this year!
Buy it: The RC Snowplow is available exclusively through Hammacher. Hammacher has other exclusive gifts. Check them out if you need a unique gift idea!

This is such a fun toy for those that live where it snows in the winter! I wish that it did here, I know my son would absolutely love this, how fun! 🙂 I may have to send one to my cousins son in Michigan now though, thanks for sharing!

Wow, I’m with katie; that is some fantastically realistic toy. Alysie would love it. She lives where is snows giant shoulder high drifts. She would go nuts with this toy.

Haha. My husband refuses to get a snow blower until they have a good electric one. I should get him this in the mean time! 😉

This is a nifty little toy! Now if you didnt have a whole lot of snow, and you got good enough with it you could actually shovel the steps I bet. This would be so fun. I could see anyone playing with this, to the point of an adult wanting a turn playing 🙂

This is really neat, I love that it really works which would make it appealing to older kids/ younger teens.

This is so cool! I want to play with it myself.

The older my grandsons get, the harder it is to buy for them. They would love this!

Now this is awesome! I love it and really really want it. I live in a heavy snow area though so i wonder if it’d just have to be the light snows. either way. so much fun!

This is awesome!!! We hate winter here in the Chicago suburbs! We’re getting (almost) too old for this cold/ snow/ ice…. I’ve always hated it! BUT, have to say, this R/C Snowplow would make it tolerable! Looks like FUN!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

I really like the features of this toy. I like that it has 360-degree rotating crane and can also move left and right. My son would dig this toy!

This is SO fun!! What a great way to get your kiddos to WANT to help with snow removal lol!! Im curious if it would actually work with our Wisconsin notorious heavy snow though!

My kids always enjoy remote control toys. I apparently am not coordinated enough to control them so I have to leave it to the kids. They would really enjoy this one!

This is an amazing idea. My grandson loves remote control cars and such and is so into construction vehicles. He would have a blast with this in the snow–of course at his house because mom mom does not like the snow lol.
