I was sent a folding mattress for review. There is an affiliate link in this post. All opinions are my own.
As a kid, I always loved pull-out couches. It was so nice to have a sleepover and have a good-sized place to sleep! As an adult, I am less of a fan. Couches with hide-a-beds a very, very heavy. I’ve helped carry them into second-story apartment buildings and it was awful! I have nieces and nephews, as well as a teenage sister, so I like to let them spend the night sometimes. I’d like someplace for them to comfortably sleep, without a hide-a-bed. So, I was excited to learn about the Memory Foam Folding Mattress that Comfort & Relax offers on Amazon.
The mattress is 4 inches thick, which isn’t much, but it’s firm memory foam that will not compress to much under your weight. It folds in three layers, so it can be stored a bit easier, perhaps in a closet. The mattress is available in full, twin, twin XL or queen sizes. Ours is a queen. It can fold up into a couch-like position, as you can see below. It is surprisingly supportive for being only 4 inches thick. The surface of the mattress is a bit scratchy but we prefer to use it with sheets over it anyway, to keep it cleaner. It fits queen sheets perfectly. I like having it on hand for kids to use when spending the night, but I think we also may use it for tent camping. Or if you have a fold-out bed without a mattress, you could lay this on top of the platform once it is folded out (it probably would not fold into the couch well, though).
“Couch” fold.
There are velcro-tabs on the ends, so if you choose to use it partially folded (like in the ‘couch’ position) you can adhere the velcro so that it stays folded in place and does not slide around. The kids have enjoyed playing on this, even just while playing at my house during the day. We have a very small living room, and a pretty large kitchen. Our kitchen is about twice the size of our living room which just seems silly. Anyway, the kids often end up playing in the kitchen because there is more floor space in there, even though the floor is laminate. Having this down gives them a soft place to play.
Do you ever have sleepovers at your house? Where do the guests sleep?

Reminds me of the fold-out chairs we had in the pediatric unit (they ended up being twin size) when I worked at a hospital. That way a parent could sleep next to their child’s bed at night. Wasn’t so great for taller parents, but it was better than seeing them lay down on a hard tiled floor with just a blanket to get some rest off and on.

I like how this is completely portable.I could see this being used in a whole lot of different ways. I like how it goes form a bed to a couch. This would be fantastic for sleeep overs or even for unexpected guests and likely way more comfortable than a couch!

That would be great for when the kids visit. I am always one bed short. Thank you for the review.

What a good idea to keep for unexpected guests.

This is an awesome fold out mattress! It looks really comfortable too, plus I love how big it is! This would definitely be a great investment for when my kids have friends over, or even for a guest. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
