Let’s talk for a moment about Chickpeas. Chickpeas, aka garbanzo beans, are a part of the legume family. Chickpeas are full of plant-based protein, heart-healthy dietary fiber, and complex carbohydrates. Chickpeas are a good source of manganese, folate, magnesium, iron, copper, potassium, and thiamin. They are also low in Saturated Fat, Cholesterol, and Sodium.

In addition to being nutritious, chickpeas are also delicious. Chickpeas are delectable in salads. You can also blend them to make a savory hummus. Many times, vegetarians and vegans will use chickpeas in place of meat in recipes.
One of my favorite ways to eat chickpeas is roasted. Roasted chickpeas make a hearty snack.
Ingredients-
1 16 oz can of chickpeas
1 TBS of oil. I like avocado oil but, you can use any oil you wish.
Cajun seasoning
Directions-
Preheat your oven to 350°.
Before I do anything, I thoroughly rinse my chickpeas. This helps remove some of the starch. Once they have been rinsed I lay them on a paper towel and gently pat them dry. Then I move the chickpeas to a baking sheet or a roasting pan and drizzle them with avocado oil. Next, I season them with my cajun powdered seasoning. Once I have lightly coated the chickpeas with oil and seasoning, I place them in the oven to roast. I stir the chickpeas every fifteen minutes to prevent burning and allow for even roasting. After an hour of roasting or when the chickpeas are similar in texture to a corn-nut, I remove them from the oven. I let my chickpeas cool slightly and then start munching on them!
Do you like chickpeas? How do you enjoy them?
Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

Yes I like chickpeas, aka garbanzo beans. When I make chili I open and drain the water and add them,
along with the kidney beans. They are very good, and + are very good for you too, as the nutrition facts show.
Thank you, I will try your recipe some time mmmmm. -

I have never eaten chickpeas. They sure do have a lot of good nutrients, but are a little high in carbs which I am limiting.

We love roasted chickpeas and often snack on them. However, I have never thought of homemade roasted chickpeas. I think I will make these for Thanksgiving evening for snacks while watching football.

Those do look really good. I usually use chickpeas to make hummus, and I could see using these spices to do that, too.
