I received a membership to Starfall.com to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.
Are you on the hunt for ways to make learning more fun? Even before we made the decision to home school our children, I wanted to find ways to incorporate play with learning. So when our first child was about 3 years old and someone recommending Starfall.com, so we checked it out.
Try It Out
What really made me love Starfall.com right away was that we were able to play on the site a bit before subscribing. Their large sample of free activities let us explore enough to see that this would be a great option for educational play.

Time To Start Playing {& Learning!}
It’s been a couple of years since we last had a Starfall.com subscription so all of our kids were excited to get busy playing. Logging in was easy and the kids wasted no time exploring the Starfall site. NOTE: I really like how easy it is to navigate and most of the kids can manage quite nicely without aid. Just our 3 year old who is using a computer for the first time needs a little guidance as she’s masters running the arrow and clicking. However, our 5 year old and up have no issues.
So Many Skills
Honestly, I have our two oldest kids, who are in 6th and 7th grade even play around on Starfall with their siblings. I love that they are brushing up on some skills like telling time, even if they don’t know it! The bright colors are eye-catching and the program interactive. I like that they offer visual answers and then verbally tell the answer as well. Music, encouragement, and visual achievements help keep the kids engaged.
The main page will offer a variety of clickable links to games, stories, and skill building activities. It’s brightly colored, eye-catching, and each click brings fun!
I also like the fact that the First Grade material is an easy click away. This prevents our 3 year old from getting frustrated as she is really good about clicking the pictures that appeal to her. Featuring a variety of math, reading, and phonics activities, this section keeps our 5 and 7 year old boys busy.
And finally, there’s even a section for working on 2nd grade math skills. Another click away from the main screen, it’s easy to find. And the activities keep our 7 year old busy for a decent amount of time when we do “computer time”.
I am so glad that we, once again, have Strafall in our home. It’s a great tool to use when helping the kids learn or build on skills they are struggling with. There’s low pressure as Starfall truly makes learning fun!

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.
