Thank you to Sugru for providing me with a product to facilitate my blog review.
All opinions are my own.
Sometimes, I come across a product that makes me go ‘wow’. Sugru mouldable glue is just that. It’s a super versatile material that’s sort of a hybrid between playdough, clay, and glue. It can do a million things, from craft projects to home improvements.
Sugru moldable glue is soft and stretchy, a bit like playdough and clay so you can shape it easily. As it dries, it turns into rubber that keeps its shape indefinitely but because it contains silicone, it actually remains flexible which makes it very unique and ideal for many types of projects. It can permanently bond to all kinds of materials from glass to wood, plastic to fabric, ceramics and even metal. It’s also heat-resistant and waterproof (even dishwasher-proof!).
Sugru comes in a variety of colors and packs. There are even thematic kits with lots of great ideas to organize your home, make beautiful craft items, etc. You can use it to identify your belongings, to fix a broken mug, to fix the sole of your shoe or a zipper, to create a new handle on your BBQ spatula, to fix your child’s favorite toy, to create small hooks to hang kitchen items or to position magnets in your office to keep everything organized… The possibilities are truly endless! In fact, there’s a very active Sugru community of social media platforms that share all their ideas and it’s amazing to see tons of fun and easy projects (I shared all the links below).
For this review, I decided to make simple projects that my daughters could help me with. We decided to personalize our home key in red with a beautiful heart stamped on it. We also decided to fix a cord that was about to tear.
From the get-go, it was super easy to manipulate the mouldable glue as it is very soft right when you remove it from the package (unlike clay that you have to warm up). The girls were able to help me with both projects and little mistakes were easily fixed because it takes a few hours to ‘dry’ (about 24 hours before you can be sure it will permanently keep its shape). For example, we have to redo the stamp on the key to get it just right but it only took a few seconds to reshape it and stamp it again. The only thing to remember is to make sure you don’t get it on fabric because it can be a little tricky to remove. Otherwise, it washes off easily from the skin if it sticks a little to your hands.
I’ve used both products for a couple weeks now, without any special care, just like I normally would and so far, the mouldable glue has held up to its promise! I’m surprise by how flexible it remains. You’d think it would crack in the cord when it’s bent but not at all, it moves around just as freely as it did before we applied the mouldable glue.
I have to say, I’m really impressed by this product. I like how flexible and easy it is to shape Sugru mouldable glue. It’s great that it is safe to use, has no smell, and that it comes in different colors. I’ll definitely keep some handy at all times because it’s so easy to use and versatile, it’ll be a life-saver in many situations. How would you use this fantastic mouldable glue?

Do this really work? We tried one of those 3d pens and boy was that a disappointment. I may have to try this because I got some of that flexglue stuff and oh my that is like the product of the year for me.
