Everyone knows how important mothers are.  They are typically the first one a child runs to when hurt or sad.  They are the one you call when you need a listening ear or helping hand.  And even now, as a grown mother myself, I still rely on my mom.  And she’s happy to be there for me!  Because moms from all over the world pursue the same very special mission: to love their children unconditionally.  So this upcoming Mother’s Day, make sure you reach out and celebrate your mom and all the women in your life that act as moms!

Love Makes A Mom

Truthfully, I felt like a mom long before we had our first child.  Starting at just 13 years old, I spent almost every single weekend babysitting a family of three.  They would drop the girls off at my (parents) house Friday after I’d get home from school and pick them back up Sunday evenings.  And the best part was that this started when the baby was just two weeks old!  To say that I was in Heaven would be an understatement.  I LOVED spending my weekends mothering those girls.  Anywhere we went, they would just come right along.  While I thought I looked young enough that it was clear, there were a few people at church who thought they were my kids even!  Truly some of my best memories are from this time in my life.

And when I started my own in-home daycare at just 18, I once again felt like a mom.  I loved my daycare kids as if they were my own and was living my dream job for the five years I did daycare.

Do You Know Any Women Where “Love Has Made Them A Mom”?

Honestly, I have several women in my life currently where “Love Has Made Them A Mom”.  There’s a foster mom who didn’t have any of her own children till recently.  But she was every bit a mother to the children in her life.  I have several women at church who are so loving and kind as well.  So even though they may not be biologically related to the children in their lives, they absolutely stand the gap as a mom.
