In the little town I live in, we only have two grocery stores and I almost always choose Meijer. In fact, I was just at Meijer last night! They just seem to carry a lot of high-quality options, and the toddler yogurt pouches we recently tried out are no exception.
Right in the regular refrigerated yogurt aisle, I came across the HappyFamily’s yogurt options for little ones. We purchased Happy Baby yogurt cups, and HappyTot Whole Milk Yogurt pouches. I had noticed HappyFamily products over near the toddler snacks area in the baby department in the past, but I had never noticed these in the yogurt area! The HappyBaby Baby’s First Whole Milk Yogurt cups are for ages 6 months and up, so they can be introduced quite early! Both variations of yogurt are made with whole milk. Yogurt is a staple food in my household because it is relatively low calorie, but it’s packed full of protein. This allows my partner and I to watch our calories while staying fuller, longer. I also love the benefit of yogurt with active cultures, as probiotics are great for digestive health. When looking at yogurt options for kids, unfortunately, many of the options available are very high in sugar. I’ve even seen varieties that include candy! I love the idea of getting kids attached to a healthy food like yogurt, but I’d much prefer that they stick with a healthier, lower sugar option. That’s why I love the Happy Families brand of yogurt. They have no added sweeteners at all! I also love how they are Non-GMO, and USDA organic!
We picked up the HappyBaby Baby’s First Whole Milk Yogurt cups in blueberry, and the HappyTot Whole Milk Yogurt pouches in blackberry and apple. At 2 years old, Royce likes to feed himself but he’s a bit mess with a spoon and he doesn’t like to sit for a long time. So, instead of trying to get him to eat the yogurt with a spoon on his own, I thought we could use the yogurt in a breakfast smoothie so he could enjoy it that way. I knew the Happy Tot pouches would tickle him because he can eat them on the go. Sure enough, he decided to finish his first pouch while riding his ride-on toy truck. If your child doesn’t finish a pouch in a single setting, the caps can be screwed back on to help save the rest for later. He had never tried anything blackberry flavor prior to this, but he really enjoyed the pouches.
We purchased our HappyFamily products at Meijer, but they are also available at Safeway, HEB and Publix!

That sounds good. I will have to tell my friend, who has a small boy too. Thank you for the information.
I have never tried this brand before, but it sounds great! I love that it is so low in sugar and organic. I always try to give my littlest the best that I can! I will have to see if my local store carries it as well, thanks for sharing! 🙂
