This recipe is something my pregnant brain just concocted the other day. My daughter and I have had them three times since. These roll ups are super easy to make, yummy and best of all – toddler approved! These are actually a play on my aunt Karen’s ‘pickle wraps’ that she brings to most family gatherings. Her pickle wraps are made with ham, pickles, and cream cheese wrapped up in a tortilla and cut into little pinwheels. The whole family loves them.
It was lunchtime the other day and I was unsure of what to make. I looked in the cupboard and found tortillas, then looked in the fridge and found the ham and pickles… I added the ranch and… yum! Pregnant mommy approved. My daughter immediately saw what I was eating and wanted one for herself. *Note, if you are feeding these to a toddler you might want to cut your pickles up so there’s less of a chance of them choking on the pickle!
These Ham, Pickle & Ranch Roll Ups are so easy to make. Here’s what you’ll need:
~ Tortilla(s) – I used flour, but fresh whole wheat tortillas could easily be subbed to make these more healthy.
~ Deli Ham – thinly sliced. Turkey could easily be subbed if you prefer.
~ Pickles – I used mini garlic dill pickles I canned myself, but you could use any kind you like.
~ Ranch dressing – I used the ‘good stuff’ out of the bottle. You could easily use homemade for a healthier version.
Lay your tortilla flat, drizzle on some ranch dressing. Spread the ranch dressing out all the way to the edges of the tortilla. I used a kitchen brush to do this, however you could use the back of a spoon. You don’t want this layer to be too thick or it will squish out the ends. Nice and thin will do the trick. Next layer a thin layer of ham over the ranch dressing. Finally, line the pickles up, 1/3 of the way across the tortilla as pictured then begin rolling. Presto! You have lunch – or a yummy snack!
If you are not a pickle lover you can also switch out the pickles for some string cheese. I made them like that for my daughter one day and she seemed to like them just as much as with the pickles on the inside.
What do you think? Let me know if you try this recipe and how you like it!

This looks good and totallysomething I would make. I think this would be good with dill or sweet. OK now I am thinking with bread and butter homemade pickles ! I love pickles, and this would be a wrap I would enjoy. I would also try t with cream cheese instead of ranch.

I have been seeing a lot of recipes for pickles rolled in or put on things lately. They really intrigue me but this one is the simplest so I am going to have to try it.

If I made these I would use the string cheese instead of the pickles. I might use ham and turkey together. These would be great for the kids’ snack.

A friend of mine is hooked on pickles! She has started wrapping bacon around a dill pickle. and putting them in her air fryer……… She is in love. I think these look interesting only got to be with turkey and store bought pickles. Never made a pickle in my life

This is such a great idea, and now I want to go to the store and get the ingredients to make these tasty treats.
It is great for Summer too, no heating up the kitchen. Thank you. -
These would be great! I might use baloney, for that gourmet touch, and maybe American cheese rather than pickles, but I think we’re on the same wavelength!

This is such a great idea and something my kids could make themselves. I think they tend to eat better if it is something they made or helped to make.
