I was sent a shipment from Nadine West. All opinions are my own. There are affiliate links in this post.
Nadine West is a subscription service for clothing. You sign up and fill out a style profile. In your style profile you share your clothing sizes, which colors you like to wear, which prints you do and do not like to wear, what color(s) of jewelry you like to wear, which types of accessories you use or don’t use, and more.
You also opt to get a bag ever 2 weeks, or once per month. When it’s time for your shipment it will arrive in a pretty pink envelope with your clothing, jewelry or accessory items tightly folded up inside. I’ve gotten several bags now and mine have ranged from including 5 items up to 8. After my last shipment I realized I was getting too many floral items in my wardrobe so I edited my style profile to say I don’t wish to receive floral items. Now I am back to solid colors. I also decided to opt in to receive bracelets, which I didn’t in the past. I was eager to see what would be included now that I altered my style profile a bit! This bag included 7 items.
I always open my Nadine West bag shortly after it arrives. I usually peek at everything and then put it back int he bag until Ryan is available to photograph me wearing each piece. This month, I fell in love with a cardigan that was included so much that I wore it before we photographed it for the blog! Then it wound up in the wash on the day I was ready to take review photos. So, here are photos of me wearing the cardigan at Chuck E Cheese instead of in front of my garage door. Sorry! But, I love this cardigan It’s a shade between a pink and a purple. I’d describe it as a mid-weight material but it is SO soft. It covers my backside so I would feel comfortable wearing this with leggings or jeans. At $42.49 it is the most expensive item I’ve ever been sent by Nadine West, but I love it! I also love how Nadine West alters their items based on the time of year. I’m getting cardigans now that it is fall.
When I first pulled this black top out of the bag I was excited. I like the criss-cross tops, the cute details on the sleeves, and the color. I don’t typically care for the uneven hemline on shirts, especially in the front. I feel like it draws the eye to the crotch area which I don’t care for. I have my style profile set to a size small in tops, but this was sent in a medium. In the past I’ve noticed Nadine West occasionally will size-up on items and then they usually fit. So I assume they size-up on items that they know are a tighter fit than typical brands. I assume they knew this shirt fits small for its size, but even sized up, this is unflatteringly tight on me. I have gained about 3-4 pounds in the last few months. I am short, so its easy for small fluctuations in weight to be visible on me. But I’m not sure if this is really my weight gain or if this brands sizing is really off where someone who fits a small in most brands would need a large in this brand. Anyway, it wasn’t a win for me based on the size and the hemline. I liked what it was going for though! This shirt is $22.49.
This dress was another that I liked when I pulled out of the bag, but was a little disappointed by how it looks on me. I like the color and the criss-cross neck area. The material is thin and has a lot of stretch to it, so it really hangs off the body. The dress does not taper in at the waist which I think is the biggest downside for me. It makes my body look like there is no curve, and flattens my chest when in reality I have a rather visible waist but the shape of this dress hides it and makes me look a lot more blocky than I really am. I think it kind of takes away my shape and highlights my belly. I don’t think it looks terrible on or anything, but it would be far more flattering if it tapered in at my waist and/or under my bust. This dress is $31.99 to keep.
Next up was some lounge pants. This was my first item getting lounge pants from Nadine West which I was excited about! These are super cozy. They feel a bit baggy on me even though they sent my normal size. Perhaps that is just the style? Nadine West has helped me to realize that my area is a little bit behind on fashion. I definitely see women wear lounge pants like this on YouTube and in TV shows, but I don’t see them worn around here. They feel a bit like urban-fashion to me I guess! They are cozy and I like the colors but they are a bit too trendy for me I think. These are $21.49 to keep.
The earrings sent this month may be my favorite yet. I tend to stick with really small earrings that are simple designs. I don’t like ‘loud’ jewelry. I really love these flowers because the design is simple and the colors are too, so they aren’t overly ‘loud’ yet they seem really unique. I like how the colors would go with almost any outfit. I think they would be adorable paired with a sundress in the summer. At just $10.99 to keep these are one of the cheaper items I’ve ever received from Nadine West.
I’m a little unsure of this necklace. I’d love to hear what you guys think about it! It’s definitely a bit outside of my comfort zone because it’s bigger than I would usually wear in a necklace. I typically stick with just a pendant. Yet I think if it was worn in a dressy occasion with a complimentary colored dress or top that didn’t contrast the gold too much that it might not be too ‘loud’ for me. This necklace is $21.99 to keep.
I was excited to get my first bracelet from Nadine West. This is rather big on me, it will fall to about the middle of my forearm when I move around. I think it is a little bit too sweet or delicate looking for my style. This bracelet is $7.99 to keep.
Remember, at Nadine West you don’t pay for everything you are sent unless you keep everything. You sign up, they send you clothes and accessories, you mail back what you don’t want to keep and then you are charged for what you do keep. So, there is no financial risk in signing up! You do have to send items back fairly quickly, usually within 2-4 days of the package arriving, but a pre-paid mailing label is included so you can pop it right back in your mailbox. No need to go to the post office.
