pickle lover foods

I love pickles. Whenever I come across a product  in the store that is pickle-flavored, I can’t help it, no matter what it is, I have to buy it to see how it tastes. I know a couple of other pickle lovers and we sometimes share with each other what pickle-flavored foods we’ve found recently. If you have a pickle obsession or if you have a pickle lover in your family and could use gift ideas for pickle lovers – here you go! Buying a range of pickle-flavored foods and putting them in a basket or gift bag would be the perfect gift for pickle lovers.

13 pickle-flavored foods that every pickle lover wants to try. Or pickle lover gift ideas!

None of these items were given to me or otherwise sponsored.  Items 1-8 are items I have tried in the past. 9+ are items I haven’t tried yet but would like to!

    1. Pickle popcorn. There are multiple forms of this. Some places offer pre-flavored pickle popcorn. A local grocery store in my area called Horrocks offers it, and my local school has had multiple fund raisers that sold variations of flavored popcorn including Pickle before. Amazon has bagged pickle popcorn. Or Kernal Season’s makes dill popcorn seasoning. My local stores have plenty of other Kernal Season’s popcorn seasoning flavors, but I’ve never found Dill locally. You may have more luck if you live in a bigger city or something. They sell it on Amazon though.
    2. Dill Pickle flavored potato chips. These are my favorite type of chips! A couple of years ago I Was excited when my local grocery store chain Meijer started making a store-brand version of these chips that tasted identical to Lays. However, about a year ago they changed the recipe up so they now taste just like dill and not like pickle anymore (no vinegar-y ness!) so now I am back to being brand loyal to Lays.
    3. Pickle flavored lentil chips. I tried these while lookin for lower-calorie options and they were quite good!
    4. Dill Pickle Flavored Sunflower Seeds. I found these local while trying to watch calories. They do taste good but the seasoning is just on the outside of the shell so they taste good to suck on but the inside of the seed just tastes like regular sunflower.
    5. Pickle-brined Baked Chicken Tenders. These were also one I tried out when looking for low-calorie recipes. Ryan isn’t big on chicken in general but he liked these so this has become a recipe we both enjoy.
    6. Fried pickles. Some restaurants offer these as appetizers. I had them for the firsts time at Max and Erma’s and enjoyed them. Then I found that Farm Rich offers these in the frozen food section of grocery stores and they are a fun treat to have at home.
    7. Pickle ice pops. One day at Walmart near the jarred pickles I saw Van Holten’s Pickle-Ice Pops. Similar to the concept of otter-pops or pop-ice treats, but these are filled with pickle juice! If you know someone who loves pure pickle juice, they’ll love these. They were too intense for me.Milani dill sauce salad dressing
    8. Dill Sauce. I found this in the salad dressing area at Meijer a year or two ago. It’s from the brand Milani and from looking around online, it seems most commonly used to season seafood or to add to bloody mary drinks. However, i’ve enjoyed using it on salads that have chicken too make sort of a pickle-chicken salad. The dressing looks bright green like pickle juice, but it’s not as salty as actual picky juice, and is thicker consistency.
    9. Pickle candy in a tin. These are hard-candies said to be pickle flavored. The tin is small so this would work well as a stocking stuffer!
    10. Dill Pickle Cashews. A healthy snack with a pickly twist!
    11. Dill pickle slim jims. I love slim jims so if I eve find these logically i’ll definitely be givin them a try!
    12. Pickle flavored cotton candy. I am so used to cotton candy being purely sweet – it’s hard to imagine pickle cotton candy. The title on Amazon even suggests using it as a gag gift. Yet…I can’t help it I’d love to give it a try!
    13. Pickle candy canes. These are definitely unique! I wouldn’t mind trying them though!
    14. Redneck Riviera spicy fried pickle pork strips. I tried pork jerky once before and wasn’t a big fan. This isn’t called jerky by the brand but in my mind it’s jerky, and it’s extremely good. I ate an entire 3.25oz bag in a single setting. I couldn’t help it! I had expected that it might primarily taste like regular jerky with just a hint of dill seasoning but it has a really solid pickle flavor while maintaining a great seasoned (peppered?) jerky taste at the same time. They have free shipping online right now, and I hope to find it local to me soon. If I can find it locally it’ll become a new staple in my shopping list.

If you’re a pickle-lover, I’d love to hear about your favorite pickle flavored foods. Have you tried any products that I haven’t? Or do you have items on your pickle-flavored wish-list that I didn’t include? Tell me in the comments below.

My sister in law owns a bar and one of her best selling drinks has pickle juice in it. She has to order jugs of pickle juice from amazon

Hmmm. I’d try the chips and maybe the popcorn. But I’ll pass on the others.

Love pickles! I couldn’t find the pickle pops but I have tried a couple you haven’t found. The pickle cashews are tasty! The pickle candy canes are not bad but I think out of them all the pickle chips are my favorite.

These items would not be for me but my husband and sons would sure like most of them. They would go for the potato chips and chicken tenders first.
