Thanks to Microscope.com for sending me this JuniorScope. As always, all opinions are my own.
If you’ve been following the blog for awhile, you probably have read that we homeschool our six and four year old kids. This year has been really fun for us, with a variety of science experiments, activities, and field trips with our homeschool co-op. Unfortunately due to Covid-19, our co-op has been canceled for the rest of the year, but we’ve still found many ways to teach at home. One of our favorite new tools is the Omano JuniorScope, which is the ultimate kids’ microscope from Microscope.com.
Omano JuniorScope from Microscope.com
The new Omano JuniorScope is ready to use right out of the box and we’ve found it to be the perfect microscope for our young scientists. Our daughter in particular loves looking at things under a microscope, and the JuniorScope is a high-quality machine that’s very easy to use. It was definitely built with kids in mind and offers three magnification levels. Whether you want to look at an object like an insect or something much smaller like blood cells or bacteria, the JuniorScope will work well.
The Omano JuniorScope comes with The Amazing Microscope Adventures experiment cards (an $18.99 value included for free) which are a great jumping-off point for new microscope users. These cards take your kids step-by-step through the basics of using a microscope and include several fun experiments. We jumped right in and studied a one dollar bill for the tiny mark proving it’s not counterfeit!
The JuniorScope feels very solid and well built unlike some other kids’ microscopes that feel more like toys. The JuniorScope provides a quality design and crystal clear images. The microscope has EZ focus knobs to help your child see things with perfect precision. There are two battery powered LED lights on the JuniorScope; one that shines from above and one that shines from below, depending on your needs.
Along with the experiment cards, the JuniorScope comes with a great kit to get you started with microscope exploration. Check out what’s included with your purchase:
- Glass Prepared Slides (including the fly leg pictured above, which is SO cool to see up-close!)
- Stains
- Forceps
- Petri Dish
- Blank Slides
- Lens Cleaning Paper
- Dropper
- Test Tube
We’ve already had an absolute blast using the included tools to explore things in our environment. This week I purchased some owl pellets from Amazon and we’re planning to dissect those and look at the contents with our JuniorScope. And for next week, I’ve got petri dishes with Agar coming so we can grow our own bacteria and check it out up close with our new microscope! The JuniorScope is a tool that’s great for kids of all ages and can really help boost a child’s love for science.

Hi there! I’m Amber, a 34 year old wife and mom of two from central Minnesota. I love to be outside with my family anywhere the weather is warm (which means I spend half the year freezing). We’re a homeschooling family that loves to travel as often as possible! When I have a spare free moment, I love to read, take photos, and scrapbook. I’m interested in anything that makes life more fun; I also love socializing and sharing about my favorite products!

There would be so many fun science projects to do with this microscope. Great way to learn about our environment.
