2020 blog holiday gift guide
In just two months, we’ll be kicking off our 2020 Holiday gift guide! As our long time readers know, we’ve been doing a holiday gift guide each November and December for many years now. Over a decade, in fact!
The same as the last several years, we’ll kick off our holiday gift guide November 1st, and it will end December 15th. Our goal is to provide our readers with holiday gift ideas for everyone on their list. From the new baby to grandparents, and even pets, we want to help you find the perfect gift for them all. Last year we shared over 200 gift ideas!
Our holiday gift guide categories will include:
- Gifts for women
- Gifts for men
- Gifts for teens
- Gifts for big kids (ages 8-12)
- Gifts for little kids (Ages 3-7)
- Gifts for babies & toddlers (ages 0-2)
- Gifts for pets
- Stocking stuffers for adults (ages 18+)
- Stocking stuffers for kids (ages 0-17).
What will the 2020 Emily Reviews blog holiday gift guide look like?
You can access our 2019 holiday gift guide directory. Each image will take you to a gift guide round-up once you click on it.
In addition to those round-up posts (like 40 gift ideas for women) type posts, we also do tons of individual reviews or features. These are entire blog posts dedicated to sharing gift ideas from one brand or retailer. We also promote on Instagram, our email newsletter and our sidebar during the gift guide, for some sponsors.
Is the holiday gift guide free?
Yes! We primarily work with brands who send us product sample(s) for inclusion in our gift guide. We do require a $25 minimum value in product(s) to qualify for our smallest promotional level. However, if a brand doesn’t want to send product(s) and would prefer to pay for inclusion, we are open to that as well.
What types of gifts are a good fit for the gift guide?
If you’d give it as a gift to someone in your family, it probably is a good fit for our gift guide! Our goal is to provide gift guides for everyone, and for any budget. We love including gifts of all kinds. Some examples:
- Fun gifts like toys, games or gag gifts.
- Classic gifts like ties, perfume, slippers, candles, gift baskets.
- Hobby or interest related gifts like craft supplies, fishing gear, or cosmetics.
- Gifts that keep on giving like subscription boxes or memberships.
- Personalized gifts like photo gifts, or gifts that are customized with the recipient’s name.
- Educational gifts like books, educational toys or games.
- Practical gifts like items for the home, bedding, or outerwear.
- Handmade gifts from Etsy shops or other small retailers.

What promotion will my brand get in return?
As a unique benefit during our gift guide each year, we offer perks to brands depending on what they send. The level of promotion that we provide varies depending on the retail value of the samples sent for review. For example, a brand who sends one $25 item will be a “Level A” sponsor who will be included in a gift guide round-up. At our highest level, a brand who sends $300 worth of product samples will be a “Level G” sponsor which will be included in two gift-guide round-up posts, a review or featured post all about the brand, an email newsletter shout-out, Instagram promotion and a sidebar ad. Most years we have a few sponsors who want to go above and beyond Level G. If that is you feel free to email us and we can work out unique perks in addition to these. What are your stats?

Can I participate if my business is located outside of the US? Sure, as long as you are willing to ship to US locations.
Can I participate as an Etsy shop, independent sales or very small business? Absolutely! We love to support businesses of all sizes.
When is the due date for sending pitches? The sooner the better! We can theoretically accept pitches through about 12/7/2019 if shipping is speedy and our schedule is not already filled, but mid November or before is much more ideal.
What is your target demographic? Our largest demographic is women ages 25-44 living in the USA. These women are typically mothers and the primary shopper for their household. Additional demographics can be seen in our holiday gift guide media kit.
Is your holiday gift guide for a specific holiday? No. All writers at Emily Reviews celebrate Christmas but our holiday gift ideas are intended to be used for any winter holiday that our readers are seeking gift ideas for.
What is the price range for gifts? Typically the majority of our gift ideas are in the $15-$150 range but we also have several very affordable stocking stuffer ideas, and several big gift ideas that are in the $200+ range as well. Our readers have a variety of gift needs and budgets so we are happy to include a wide range.
