I was sent Chomps meat sticks for review. All opinions are my own. There are affiliate links in this post.
When Ryan decided to try the keto diet for a while back, we always intended for it to be temporary. He had found success through losing weight in other ways but then had plateaued. We thought switching to keto might change up his foods a bit, while also spurring some fresh weightloss. We wouldn’t try to do a diet that cut out a food group longterm. We thought it might work for a while though
So, we started researching protein, healthy fats, sugarfree or very low sugar foods, etc. We found meal ideas quite easily, and while our plan was to avoid snacking regularly, we thought it would be silly to not have any snack options at all. When looking at snack ideas, we thought meat snacks or beef jerky would be a good, keto-friendly option. We were shocked when we realized how much sugar is put into most beef jerky and other meat snacks, such as Slim Jims.
We just don’t think of beef jerky or meat snacks as being sugary because they don’t taste sweet unless they might be seasoned with something like barbeque or teriyaki sauce. Chances are, if you eat beef jerky or other meat-based snacks without specifically looking for ones that are no-sugar, then you’re probably getting a lot of sugar with your snack. Who knew?
Chomps is a brand of snack sticks that are sugarfree. Because of this, the taste caught us off guard a bit. They seem rather plain compared to what we’re used to, but that’s because we’re used to sugary options, and just tend to ‘forget’ that it’s sugary because they don’t seem sweet. The turkey version of these is really quite a lot like just eating plain turkey, except in a snack stick form. Some of the flavors have a bit more reasoning, like the Italian Style Beef, but they’re still significantly more subtly flavored than what we’re used to buying.
Chomps have 9 to 10 grams of protein per stick, and range from 60-100 calories each. They are keto-friendly, certified Paleo, and whole-30 approved. They’d be a great stocking stuffer for the health-conscious person or meat-lover in your family. The Chomps Trial Pack will allow them to try a lot of flavors!

When I first read the title, I thought it was for dogs. These would be better than other meat snacks.
