XL FEET is just what it sounds…they specialize in shoes for “larger” feet. Most of their shoe and boot sizes go up to a 16 EEEE. They carry regular width shoes, wide (2E), and wider (4E). Not only do they carry several types of “work” boots, but they also carry socks (in a wide range of sizes), sandals and shoes (work, exercise, walking casual, even flipflops), and more. If you have someone who needs a larger or wider shoe, you might want to make XL FEET your first stop. If it goes on your foot, XL FEET probably has it.
The Carolina Men’s 6” Waterproof Composite Broad Toe Wide Width Work Boot is the shoe that caught my husband’s eye. In his line of work and his off-work time, he needs a durable and comfortable boot. After reading the description of the Carolina, it sounded like this work boot would be perfect.
These work boots are made with a pillow cushion that feels just as it sounds. Even after standing in these boots for several hours, the wearer’s feet aren’t tired or sore. They’re waterproof and have a composite toe box that has a broader square-ish shape which is a great feature for larger or wider feet and another reason why they are so comfortable even after hours of wear.
If you’re in a situation where you are around electricity and need a shoe that will add to your protection, The Carolina is Electrical Hazard Rated. It also has a leather upper, EVA midsole, and a slip-resistant rubber sole.
For being such a well-constructed work boot with as many safety features as The Carolina has, one would think they might be heavy and bulky but weigh just barely over 2 pounds (per boot).
After some wear, my husband said the Carolina work boots were quite comfortable. He even said he was going to take them with him on his upcoming hunting trip. He must like them if he is taking them with him!
