Life is busy and with a new school year right around the corner, schedules will only get crazier. I’ve found a few ways to help my family cope that have really helped. First off, we set expectations and follow a (loose) schedule. Secondly, we use planners! Over the years, I’ve found that if things are NOT written down and scheduled or recorded, tasks don’t get accomplished and events get missed. So this 2021-2022 school year, we’ve turned to Order Out Of Chaos to help us be successful.
What Is Order Out Of Chaos?
Order Out of Chaos is a great little company that offers academic planners & accessories, study-skills training, time management & coaching services, family education, virtual products & classes for parents and their students, both mainstream & learning differences, all geared to help bring order out of chaos to their customer’s lives.
So, in short, the Order Out Of Chaos team has created a variety of products, webinars, classes, and more to help your life run a little more smoothly!
Order Out Of Chaos Academic Planners
These Academic Planners are designed with students in mind, however teachers and other adults have also found them useful. It’s an award-winning educational tool for students that keeps them on task and on track to succeed with their assignments, projects, goals, and more. This planner’s patented layout design allows students to see when assignments are due and tests scheduled alongside after-school commitments and free blocks of time, enabling students to visualize their time so they can learn to master and manage it.
Take A Video Tour Of The Academic Planner:
As you can see, the easy to use and read layout helps sets kids up for success. I actually received two planners for teens as their day gets quite busy between school work, co-op, jobs, and other activities. Because we homeschool and have some flexibility with school work, it’s easy to put things off and then have it pile up for the weekend. I’m confident that these new academic planners will help to prevent that from happening this year.
And for a little extra organization and color, the Academic Planner Sticker Sheet will also help. This set includes 185 custom-designed stickers that fit perfectly on the planner’s weekly agenda pages, as well as the individual large monthly calendar pages.
ONLINE VIDEOS: Complete Set of Study Skills Tutorials
In addition to the Academic Planners, I felt the the Study Skills Tutorials would also be beneficial for our kids. These five (30 minutes each) tutorials cover:
- How to Take Notes…The Correct Way!
- How to Win at Flashcards!
- How to Actually Plan for Your Exams!
- How to Study Effectively…and Know When You Are Done!
- How to Ace Multiple Choice & True/False Exams!
But here’s the thing, different people learn different ways. So if you’re worried these videos may not work for you, don’t be! It all gets broken down for you and teaches you the EXACT methods YOU need to LEARN in order to take notes, study smarter, ace exams, and get better grades!
By purchasing this Complete Set of Study Skill Tutorials, you’ll get STEP-BY-STEP instructions that Leslie uses with her coaching clients. These are NOT one size fits all steps as she works to provide different strategies for all types of learners.
So far, the kids have watched video number one and are super impressed. While they had learned some of the tips over our homeschooling journey, they also got some new ideas too. They said the video is engaging and interesting and they’re excited to continue on to the others!

Order Out Of Chaos Giveaway
One lucky Emily Reviews reader will receive the online class “It’s About Time – Tips & Tolls for Mastering Time Management”, valued at $20.
Time Management is a challenge for everyone but is a particularly daunting challenge for students…especially those with Executive Dysfunction and ADHD. There is an expectation that once they hit middle school or even elementary school they should be independent and know how to get things done on their own. But most students lack the tools to know how to “see” their time. To know how to manage it. Even to know how long things take.
In this ONLINE VIDEO, Leslie opens the door to the world of time management for students, what being time-challenged truly looks like, why time management is a LIFE SKILL and not just a school skill, and why your student WITHOUT the proper scaffolding and supports will NEVER be able to become truly time aware. Learn ALL-NEW out of the box tips, tools, and techniques that give guidance to parents looking to help their students understand, develop, and implement these essential skills.
Topics in this 1-hour ONLINE VIDEO include:
- How your child learns and processes information so they can develop “Future Awareness.”
- Why your child needs to “external” time in order for them to “internalize” it and the proper tools to use.
- Tips on getting your student to use an academic planner as a tool to learn time management. Yes, really!!
- Why working “Time over Task” and “Seeing Done” will help your student see time and increase motivation.
- How creating routines and rituals helps us become Time-Aware.
- And her “Secret Sauce” for completing long-term assignments!
And So Much More!

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.
