If Christmas is coming and you’re running around trying to find out what to get the men in your life then we are here to help! On Emily Reviews we’ve got a great line-up of 9 of the best Christmas presents for men. Let’s take the pressure off so you can focus on having a
great time instead!

When buying for men is hard…..
Lots of you have written to us wondering just what to get a guy for Christmas. It seems that dads are particularly hard to buy for. How many of you have had to fall back on socks, aftershave or a favourite bottle of whiskey?

It seems for sure that women are often easier to buy for! A day at the spa, a trip for two, a shopping spree or even a soft pair of pyjamas will usually go down a treat. But for guys…..sometimes it just feels a bit trickier.

Luckily there are plenty of great Christmas gift ideas out there that can really make the season special for all. The trick is to not be lazy – really think about what they like during the year and try to make your gift special for them

Nine surprising Christmas gifts for men

1. Get him an experience
If coronavirus has taught us anything, it’s that you cannot place a value on being able to do things! Even more important is doing things together! Instead of giving a tangible gift why not consider an experience that you can share with the man in your life. Great ideas include things like helicopter lessons, skydiving and – for those who aren’t adrenaline junkies – a trip to a favourite sports game or race car track will do the trick.

2. Subscriptions for favourite items
If you give a gift that is not well thought out it can be quickly forgotten. Getting the man in your life an annual subscription means you will be giving him a gift that keeps giving all year long! Ideas can include simple things like a sign up to a favourite magazine. Or you can go all out and pay for something more practical that they use on a monthly basis, such as contact lenses or even gym or golf club membership.

3. Donations to a special cause
A donation to a special cause that means something for him maybe make a really special nice memory. If there is a charity that is close to his heart – for example one that supports a certain illness or cause, then think about making a donation in his name. You could go further and find a gift that is linked to a certain charity. Often, companies will pair up with charities in order to get good publicity. You’ll often see products for sale with signs such as “we will plant a tree for every $X spent” or “2% of our proceeds go to the Animal Shelter Charity”. Find something like that – this way you will be able to still physically give him something, but it will also carry a significant meaning.

4. Personalised gifts – tailor made for him

A customised present, selected and made with a little bit of thought can go a miles. There are many online stores that offer a range of gifts that can be tweaked for personalisation. One such store is Forever gifts – they offer a wide selection of items on which you can put
your own stamp. From engraved cufflinks to keyrings with pictures, you are sure to be able to come up with something that is both memorable and cool.

5. A gift for the electronics lovers in your life
One aspect of getting a present for a guy – you usually can’t go wrong with some sort of electronic device or gadget. The trouble is, a good quality gift in this range may cost a bit more than you can afford. But if you do decide to get him one, don’t skimp. There is nothing worse than a cheap electronic device breaking down within weeks. Go for high end brands – a pair of Bluetooth iPhone headphones may be a good idea, or an iPad. This gift would really be for a special someone!

6. Male Grooming Kits
In the past decade, grooming for men has gone to another level. Nowadays, men’s bathroom products have become way more than a toothbrush and comb! From high end facial care creams to beard grooming kits, this is a gift option they can use every year for the whole of the next year

7. Booze – but not just a bottle
If you want to get them their favourite drink for Christmas, think beyond just a bottle of whiskey or Baileys. Get them a gift to remember such as a trip to a brewery or a beer making kit. The trick is either to give them a memorable experience or something that lasts beyond New Year’s Day like a whiskey decanter set! Those kinds of items last a lifetime!

8. Great Grill Gifts for Men
Upgrade your man’s barbeque gear with some high end personalised barbeque tools. You can get sets with engravings on the handles and case. Add his name or perhaps a special phrase or date that means something to the two of you. This is something he can bring out in the spring as barbeque season gets underway!

9. Coffee lovers
Most of us like a good coffee. But if you have a man in your life who LOVEs coffee then treat him to some great equipment. A top of the range coffee machine would be great, but if it is out of your budget a fancy French press and a couple of packs of his favourite blend can be just as effective. If you are lucky he may let you drink some too! Now you’ve got a bunch of great ideas for Christmas gifts for men! It’s time to relax, enjoy the season and hopefully impress the man in your life with a great gift!

This list has something for any guy. Most guys I know love good coffee or a good craft beer. Also I like the idea of donations because some men don’t need any more things.

I found a big box of Bar None candy bars on amazon I’m going to surprise my husband with. It was one of his favorites growing up and I can’t find them in stores. It’s the little things!
