Elegoo sent me a Mars pro mono LCD MSLA resin 3d printer for my holiday gift guide. All opinions are my own.
If you have no idea what a 3D printer can do..I’ll try to briefly explain.
3D printing is a process that combines layers of material to create a 3D form. The instructions for how to shape the layers are stored in a digital file. I almost think of 3D printing as being roughly the opposite of sculpting. With sculpting, you carve away unwanted pieces. With 3D printing, you create an object by just adding the material exactly where you need it.
3D printers are used in different manufacturing businesses, but it’s also popular for people to enjoy 3d printing at home, as more of a creative hobby. For example, you could use a 3D printer to create practical objects for around your home, or to use as gifts. Anything from action figures, to planters, to a tablet holder, to jewelry, to drink coasters, to soap moulds.
A lot of people who are interested in designing, engineering and/or coding will find all sorts of ways to make good use of a 3D printer. They’re a great gift to consider for anyone with those interests. I think these could be an especially good gift for a teenager who may be interested in going into a programming or engineering related career.
It’s a resin printer, not a filament printer. Resin printers are better for making really detailed pieces.

This sounds like a really nice 3D Printer, it definitely looks cool! I love that it makes extra detailed things, and the built-in active carbon that helps reduce the smell. My son has been talking about all of the things he would make if he had one of these. He is a little young now, in my opinion, but maybe someday!
3D printers are so cool. I have to admit that I barely understand how they work, but my husband can code, and I’m sure he’d have a lot of fun with this. I like that the Elegoo Pro Mars 2 printer has a carbon filter to absorb the odors from the resin.
