I was sent a Galen leather tote for review. All opinions are my own.
I’m pretty picky about what purse or handbags I like. The size is important to me, the pockets or compartments matter, and I care about the appearance, too. Typically I find a purse that I like and then I’ll use it for several years.
I’ve had my current purse for a few years, but it’s gotten to be a bit small. I like to carry a lot of things with me for ‘just in case’ type situations. I am that person who always has headache meds on me, some wet wipes, hand sanitizer, a hair tie, tampons, extra face masks, a pen, etc.
Recently I was given a rescue seizure medication that I’m supposed to keep on me. The box that the medication came in is something like 3 inches tall by 2 inches wide and 2 inches deep. While it’s not huge, it’s big enough that it’s made my current purse feel overly-full. I’ve decided it’s time to change purses to something a bit bigger.
Initally, I thought I might use this Galen leather tote as a purse. I loved how it has a strong magnetic closure (I don’t like my purse to gape open!) and the organization that it offers inside. One side has a slim pocket (perfect for a phone) one corner has a keychain/key fob, and the other side has some stretchy loops to hold pens and some other pockets.
If you like BIG purses, I think this could be used as a purse. I personally was looking for a purse that is just bigger than my old one, so this feels too big as an everyday carry, for me. I am bummed though, because it is clearly really beautifully made. It feels really sturdy. It came in a cloth bag, and with a little zipper pouch with some tea samples and other miniature gifts.
The way that they package these for shipping makes opening them a bit of an experience in itself. I think they’d be great for purchasing as a gift! While the size of this didn’t quite work out for what I had planned, I’d feel good about ordering from Galen Leather in the future based on the quality I see here. This definitely looks like a good quality bag! I am like you… I tend to carry a purse I like for years and wear it out. I like one with pockets too although I’m carrying less than I used to since I’m not carrying around diapers or baby gear currently. I need to look into this brand when I start shopping for a new bag. I wonder if they make wallets too.

I like large purses sometimes especially when I am travelling and want to have lots handy. This is a lovely looking bag and would be a help to keep things organized with all of the pockets.
