Thank you to Winning Moves Games for providing me with products to facilitate my blog review. All opinions are 100% my own.
One thing good about our family being all cooped up during the pandemic was our refound love of playing board games. We played some games for hours. Sometimes it was just two of us playing, while other times we were joined by additional family members at times spreading out over three generations…from a 6-year-old up to a 67-year-old and all ages between.
Our assortment of games including card games, games of strategy, games of deceit, and games that exercised our creativity as well as our memory. We dug deep into our game cabinet and uncovered many old favorites that have served us well. As you can imagine, after a few months of this, we started to grow tired of some of the games and craved some new challenges. That led us to Winning Moves Games.
Winning Moves Games has an assortment of classic games as well as new ones. They have card games, children’s games, family games, and more.
The fine folks at Winning Moves Games have so many tempting games in their inventory that it was hard to limit ourselves to only a few. I decided on Clue Master Detective, Chinese Checkers, Yahtzee, Aggravation, and Barrel of Monkeys.
Many of our family members love playing Clue so when we discovered a Clue Master Detective, you can only imagine our joy. Clue Master Detective is like the original Clue on steroids. There are more suspects, more rooms, and more weapons.
Another game that we love is Chinese Checkers. The Chinese Checkers board that we were using is at least 70 years old and was made using cardboard. The cardboard is showing signs of wear and tear with faded colors and the holes for the marbles have even changed shape over the years. A few marbles had been lost over the years and we had tried to find replacements and not all of them were the same sizes. Although we will likely never get rid of our old set of Chinese Checkers, we were delighted to find that Winning Moves Games had a new set for us. This set is made with a sturdy platform board. The marbles are brilliant in color (and all the same size, lol).
I am not sure how I have lived my entire life without playing Yahtzee. Of course, I have heard of the game, I just have never sat down and played it before. Yahtzee is a game of skill and chance. The object of the game is to score the most points by rolling five dice to make certain combinations. The dice can be rolled up to three times in a turn to try to make one of the 13 possible scoring combinations. A game consists of thirteen rounds during which the player chooses which scoring combination is to be used in that round.
Aggravation is a fun game for the entire family. Two to six players race around the game board trying to be the first to make it from Base to Home. Players can take shortcuts to zip ahead, or can try the super shortcut to shoot across the board!
Barrel of Monkeys has players competing to build the longest chain of monkeys. The game comes with 15 red classic plastic monkeys and one yellow monkey barrel. The barrel can be used to store the monkeys when you aren’t playing. Barrel of Monkeys is great for working on hand and eye coordination.
While I was shopping for games, I decided to grab a few stocking stuffers. I got a Wham-O Superball, Wham-O Hacky Sack, and Scrabble Slam card game.
No matter your age or what type of games you enjoy, Winning Moves Games will have something to tempt you.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.
